Newegg's Some Good/Bad Deal?

I bought countless motherboards and video cards, some other items...and they were all refurbished from Newegg. So far only, three items had to go back. Overall, i'd rather like their refurb items and 30 days policy.

I've had these for about a week....And, not being an audio expert; they sound terrific to me. For the price, you can't go wrong. You would pay about $20.00 for crappy/generic speakers without sub anywhere else. May just order another one for the h### of it. It won't sound as good as the CSW...

Philipps ($40.00 rebate) people could learn a lesson or two from Crucial $10.00 rebate program. The rebate came in an envelope, not a postcard type, and it only took 5-6 weeks. I have faith in Crucial ....May just buy some stocks from them.

Got mine yeterday....I sent Natalie an email 10 days ago.....Better late then nothing. Philipps is no longer a household name at my house. I hate to deal with these guys.

Iomega Fotoshow ?

I t's a piece of crap....I bought one and never could get to work right. It used to be $299.99, now $149.99...that would give you a hint about the unit. It is supposed to be able to read CF and Smart media, but it has one heck of a time trying to access them. And when you put the Zip disk in, CF...

Help with locked hard drive

It's a brand new 40 gig HD by Quantum...I installed on the machine at work (all work related), i think the maintenance people at night must have done something to it. I don't even know for sure who did this, i would have fired the SOB on the spot. The brand new, probably two months old and less...

The p/w is on the HD (?)....I cannot access the HD because it was asking for the p/w. Tried to clear the CMOS, i even took the drive to another PC, no results...Something on the drive prevented me from fdisk/format or even access it.

A 40G hard drive.........

I put in a new 40g ibm hard drive in my pc last night to replace the 30g WD.........Everything is working perfectly fine except one issue. T he HD property sheet shows that the drive is half full (used 20g/unsed space 20g).....I know that on my old one it only used a little over two gig full...

Radeon LE or Regular Radeon ??? Help me.

After reading the article from Oldfart (thank you) i concluded that this card is the Radeon 32DDR regular version. Just to make sure that it would be able to use the drivers and enable hyper-z, i went ahead and flash the bios to the 32ddr one from one of the hack sites. THANK YOU so much...

I don't have SMP......It does have ATI printed on the pcb. So far from the info, it seems to be a reg Radeon 32mb ddr...Any other hints/help to look up???

Very strange -- my Mobo won't let me O/C anymore!! Please Help!!

You should not return that cpu because it could reach higher speed , there is no guarantee that the replacement would do it at all. My thoughts on this.......Did you look at the voltage??? Have you tried to crank it up a bit??? Have you tried to run O/S without RAID???

Hard drive / RAID problem: "Attempting to recover allocation unit xxxxx"

That means that your drives are developing bad sectors. Scandisk will mark those sectors so you can no longer use that part, the bad news is, it gets worse as time goes by. If that drive (s) is under warranty, i would rma right away. Eventually it will go out, worse, you will loose files using...

How fast is a zip drive?

I used to transfer files around with my zip drives (5 of them, total)...Lately, I've been using those smart media/compact flash reader and writer to transfer files. They are usb so you don't have to reboot the system everytime. They are reasonably fast for file traferring. And about the same...

ECS K7S5A for $49.00 refur at Newegg

I bought a refur one a few weeks ago for $55.oo shipped and I am very happy with it. The only thing bad about it is I can't get it to work with my Crucial ddr ram, no problem with SDram though. I believe there are a few plp that couldn't get it to work with ddr ram either.

Too many computers, sell the Abit BH6 or Aopen AX6B??

I agree with BoYRaCeR. Abit made good 440BX boards, for OC'ers, they're the best. Of course, life after BX chipset, sucks for Abit. I have built at least 20 systems based on Abit BX boards (BE, BH, BX and their sibblings). Never had a single problem. All these are OC'ed to higher speed. What...

Is there ANYONE NOT having problems with their K7S5A board?!

Except for the fact that I could not get my Crucials ddr ram to work (found out later that SOME crucial ddr ram won't work with this board), I did not have any other problems with it. Flashed to OC bios, installed o/s and other software...The thing is working as expected. Would buy another one...

Think of it, I don't see any significance advantage in flashing the BE6 to BE6-II. I hate to loose the board. Gave 38.00 bucks for it at Newegg refur. The only advantage right now is BE6-II can take higher cpu's than BE6. May be Abit will have an update bios later.

Crucial question(no pun intended)

If you really search in the "motherboard" section, you will see quite a few people having this problem, including me. And, I had the exact same problem with you. I ended up and used PC133 ram.
