Why so many PCI slots, still??

I personally don't like to have all that stuff onboard (sound, nic, video). I guess for some people that aren't picky about being able to upgrade when that new sound card comes out. Although, i think it's kinda nice to have onboard RAID, simply because even if you don't use the RAID function the...

There may be a possible problem with the rebate if you use this coupon code. After reading the "fine print" it says that the rebate is not valid with any way shape or form of other deal. I thought that this may cause some problems and figured i would point it out to you guys..... Any ideas???

AZ-11 (compaq version) Bios flash?

Does anyone have a Compaq Presario 7000z CTO?? The motherboard says pipeline-1, which is really a FIC AZ-11 with some possible compaq mods... Has anyone tried flashing their pipeline-1 with the FIC bios?? Any successes or failures?? Any experiences with flashing OEM modded motherboards??

PCI Latency Problem

I have a similar problem on my system, mine gives the same error message. When I run the drive benchmark I only get 17,500 with a Maxtor D740x. Why is the score so low? Any Ideas? My dad's system which has the same chipset gets 24,000 pts with the D740x and a clean install of Windows XP home...

gaming sound card

I say go with the TBSC, Better drivers and sound quality ROCKS! Haven't heard the sound quality on the Audigy yet though.

Any suggestions for this system?

Looks good, but is that hard drive 7200rpm?? If it's not you may want to get a 7200rpm drive. I've got a SSSSSSSSSLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW 4500rpm hard drive and its terrible.

Enermax hype.

My Sparkle 400watt has no trouble keeping a steady +5v line neither does my compaq 300watt PSU, but the compaq's in for now because i can't stand not being able to hear what people are saying on the phone.

which is better, Polk or Bose speakers?

You do know that there's ALMOST no way for computer speakers to be 53 watts RMS each right?? also, that sub is no where near 188watts RMS. You know those AC adaptors that plug into the wall?? Explain to me how you get 53 watts or 188 watts from 6 or 7 watts.

I believe LOD takes more power to run. Look for patches for LOD, there may be one.

Should I get that Kingmax 256 meg PC2400 ram? or should I stick with crucial?

Both sticks of ram will be good. The Kingmax might be a little better. Do you overclock??

Need a mobo and processor - any ideas?

Depends if you want to go Amd or Intel. If you went AMD (what i'd do/did). Athlon XP 1500+ A GigaByte GA7DXR or any other mobo (most are good) At least 256mb ram i have 512mb I have a Radeon 64mb ddr ViVo and it's AWESOME! The AIW would be nice too.

Comments wanted on a new value system build.

Looks like a nice system. Shouldn't be any problems. Check Crucial for that memory, they may be cheaper. They occasionally have free shipping.

INTEL SYSTEM NEEDED, I'm AMD fan, so I'm LOST :(

I have an athlon 1.1ghz with a Tai Sol HS/F and it is extremely quiet. It is the CEK733092. It has a 4200rpm fan. I have this system running with a 300watt psu and a 2200rpm case fan and under my desk you barely hear it.
