upgrade or not?

With the current Radeon drivers the GF3 beats the Radeon! It will take better drivers from Ati to beat Nvidia. If your games run fine for you now I would wait and see which api the game makers choose to implement and then pick a card! Plus the prices will be lower then.

Dark Age of Camelot on 8500

Looks great on my Vtek GF3! =] I was playing on one server and one of the people in the group was using the radeon and having issues, they had to keep logging out and in! I would check the tech support forums to make sure no one is havign the issue with the 8500 before dumping cash into one!

Getting video card today, need advice.

I have the Vtek gf3 runing 240/530 and have not had an issue with it! The Ti200 is a little slower than the GF3 but not much slower so if you cant swing the GF3 get the TI and hope it overclocks well!

Is it me, or is this slow?

Run 3dmark 2001 with your card at the defaults then do it overclocked im sure you will find a difference! I get 7481 on the def 2k1 bench with a 1.33@1.5(150fsb) and a vtek gf3 at 240/530 on a Iwill kk266 I would imagine you should be close to my score! Did you disable sound? Most benchmarks...

GeForce 3 low performance! HELP!!!!

I would load the latest via agp driver in turbo mode, reinstall dx8a on your system. Use the 21.83 drivers also! Im getting 7400+ with a 1.33@1.5(fsb 150) and 240/535 for vtek gf3 I think in the least you should be in the low 6000+ range with no tweaking...

Yes as long as you get a 300 watt amd approved ps! I would suggest one that has cooling options(case fans) amd chips run hot!

Ummmm I disagree I have an msi kt7pro-2a and do not care for it!dont get me wrong ive never had an issue with it other than it is not very tweakable! Had an abit kt7 didnt like that one too much! I have the Iwill kk266 also and love it! no issues with sblive, its running a 1.33@1.5...

Which GeForce III?

Stay away from the 3dprophet, it uses slower ddr ram which is probably why it ran cooler and slower! I would wait till the "titanium" or whatever they are calling it comes out the prices will surely drop then!

A quick test if a friend of yours has a working agp slot pop your card in and see if it works! Sounds like the agp slot is toast though!

Detonator XP + FSB OC = phooey

Running my KK266 150 fsb no issues with 21.81 dets! Apparently they are working on issues with detenator drivers maybe thats one of em!

Viewsonic PF790.....anyone have it? Any good?

I have one and love it! Its better than my sony g400! The colors are more vivid. Games look great on the monitor also.

How do I get my CDrom/Cdwriter on different IDE's??

Maybe thats why you were having problems before! =] ide 0 is the primary ide channel, your harddrives should be connected there! ide 1 is the secondary channel and your cdroms should be located there! you do NOT want hardrives on seperate channels, put both harddrives on ide0 and bothe cdroms...

Return to Castle Wolfenstein and OpenGL on XP

game looks great 1280x1024x32 everything maxxed out! The flamethrower effect is incredible! Its worth checking the demo to see for yourself!

Is it worth upgrading?

Depends, if your heavily into 3dgaming then go for it if not hold off a bit! What do you score in 3dmark 2001? Just hit 7463 with the new detenator drivers! Return to wolfenstein demo everything maxxed at 1280x1024x32 and its runs sweet(you should see the flamethrower)! Max payne runs awesome...

HELP cant get refresh rate right:(

Download hztool and use it, it allows you to force different refresh rates for different resolutions! Just dont try and set it too high your monitor wont like it.

Is burnproof necessary today?

"I've got a pretty decent system so I'm wondering if I should go with burnproof or not. " If you want a coaster collection get one without burnproof! It has nothing to do with you machine speed or amount of memory! I would look into the plextor drives! The best in my and many others opinion...

3Dmark2001 on P4 1.8/ Geforce3. How r they?

I never had a v5 so I cannot compare, however my gf3's 2d is much improved over the gf ddr, gf2 ultra and gf2 pro that I have owned! "I keep hearing the geforce 3 will be awesome when games that are optimized come out for it. " Play Q3A or UT with FSAA enabled at 1280x1024x32, games are out...

Advice? 1.33 @ 1.46, won't boot Windows any higher

Multiple sticks of CAS2 memory

I have the kk266 with my crucial stick at cas2 and 5-2-2 and have no issues, I have a 128 meg cas2 stick laying aroung I will try it later and let you know if it works!
