Help! What Camera from USA? DSLR or Compact?

I read users that handle RX100 in show room (Sony users), it seems NEX5N, 7 focus faster than it. and it didn't has the focus control cp to a DSLR or NEX etc (and therefore result with more out of focus shots) of course the size and focus range are better than a NEX5N with kit lens.

85 1.8 much better than 50 1.8..."I" Love it for portrait, great for indoor basketball. In fact, go 100mm for portrait... anyway. My point is you have to find your subject and style... and the only way to do it is go out and shot. (well, you can view others that you like and copy them at first)...

E-PL1 is at good value as it's older generations. a refurbished body goes for $149. and a refurbished 14-42 kit goes for $199 at cameta.com Of course you paid for the warranty and brand new feeling.

Canon Mirrorless Finally Here! EOS M: T4i + 22mm f/2 = $800 - New EF-M Mount

Assume its a T4i sensor, no one will want it once the production and reviews are up... the auto AF is slow with T4i liveview (a lot of youtube video out there) cp with any other mirrorless AF... let alone with DSLR's AF speed. So out with the crowd that currently has DSLR that want a compact...

Do you absolute need pocket-able? Is so, there are many choice in $150 range if you look for deals.. But right now Cell-phone pictures quality has been up to P&S level, may be put your money on mobile phone and stuff (phone always with you...) If not, for a cheap option...

Finally got to visit the B&H Superstore in NYC

I have the 70-200 f/2.8 IS L Its as good as can be. I don't know if you are willing to carry the weight... its heavy.. But IS is a must, I will rather get a f/4 IS ... I am happy with my 24-105L too.. as well as my Sigma 24-60 f/2.8 which cost US$200.... get a prime lens for...

If I use my flash in manual mode, am I OK not getting an E-TTL flash?
