I checked the PATH. It was: PATH = C:\WINNT\system32;C:\WINNT;C:\WINNT\System32\Wbem I then checked those directories and could not find the Winkgw file How would I search for a file that was hidden? Also, it starts at bootup. Any idea on how to track it? I'll check the registry tomorrow...

Lite-On Drive Deals @ Dell (CD-RW & DVD)

The dvd's are LOUD!!!! I got 3 of them from dell a while back and they are the loudest drive I have ever heard. The cdrw's are fine (both cendyne and "true" lite-on).

Gainward Ti4200 128mb back at newegg today! but $226

I got the newegg Leadtek 4400 last week for $235. The 4400 has about 10% better performance than the 4200. Also it came with WinFox for OC'ing. I sat it at 4600 speed and it has been running like a champ. It is one heavy pci card. It has a wrap around heatsink!

Abit KX7333 & 333R boards have had a major price drop

Got a KX7-333R installed last night. Got the RMA for it tonight. It died after four hours. Not worth the trouble of throwing away. BTW: the price has dropped an unbelievable amount in the past 48 hours! I paid $148 at newegg last Friday.

I have one of these and they are ok. The big problem is that you have to hold your hand curled backwards (fingers up in the air). The new usb "claw" is much more comfortable, but it is more money.

Gateway 6400 W2K Runaway Process

Current lead on the solution: I have access to a 6400 that has the 100% usage problem. It does it immediately and reliably. I talked with GWay and they know of the problem but not a solution. I tried alot of different things (many, many hours) and guess what... I swapped out the power supply...

Upgrade Gateway 6400 Server from SP to MP

I am running w2k and did not have to do that. I just installed the new cpu then go to device manager->computer->(only one entry in here) dbl click it and upgrade the driver. Select "Display a list..." then select the multiprocessor one. reboot and you are done.
