Audio always cutting out - possible hardware problem!

A BIOS flash might solve the problem, I would check on the ECS Website before doing this, and also their support or knowledge base.

Potentially HOT: Seagate 160GB 8mb for $37 after $50 MIR

Does vAGP (AGP voltage) affect the stability of your GPU OC?

Just wondering, because while my board defaults at 1.5, it also has a BIOS option for 1.6, 1.7, and 1.8. Just wondering whether it will help me squeeze a few mhz out of it, or if it is a waste of time. Thanks in advance. And if it matters, its a Retail BBA 9600 pro currently running 510/353...

Problems formatting a hard drive that was in a RAID array...

Its a 40gb Seagate 7200.7. Worked just fine when I pulled it.

Problems formatting a hard drive that was in a RAID array...

Anyone had any problems with it? I sold my HD to someone on the forums, and the person says that he can't get through a full NTFS format in XP, only a quick format, and that when he does that, when transferring files the system hangs. Any advice?

Unfortunately, and contrary to popular belief, a RED light on Abit boards does NOT simply mean that the power is on. This is taken from the Abit website: So I'd uh, yeah, turn it off, or something. EDIT: This is obviously a joke.

Id like an opinion on this ram: Crucial Vs. Buffalo

I was a diehard crucial fan until this year when I went to upgrade, and they were only offering CL3 modules. I've heard some good things about the buffalo winbond, although your link is broken.

Properly configuring my DDR memory

If you have CAS2 Ram, you probably won't have any problems running your precharge delay at 5-7 and everything else at 2. I would look on OCZ's website for the actual suggested timings for your RAM, though. And then try minor increases from there.

AHHH Slipped with some AS got a small smudge of it on the mobo?!

Rubbing alcohol has always worked for me, I usually have it handy when I'm playing with AS anyhow.

Is PC3200 enough?

You don't necessarily need a new HSF to OC your barton to 200FSB. There are a great many who do it on stock cooling alone and have no problems with temps or stability.

I believe you stated that your sister would be getting the old stuff, so selling it isn't going to be an option, correct? Personally, I think you should hold off until you get the other money. Prices will be lower, and you'll be able to buy what you want off of the people who upgraded this...

something def isn't working properly

Usually nowadays lack of or bad memory will give you loud annoying beeps, where as a non-working processor gives you no sound at all. But you should still check it.

Memtest86....how long should it take?

Yes, I have a bootable CD for memtest. As to the original subject, many times random reboots is a sign of high temps, does your case/CPU have sufficient cooling?

to RAID or not to RAID?

Well, you could just keep the existing array, but have everything that absolutely CANNOT be replaced on the newer 2 drives which aren't in the array. I think its just a matter of personal preference, I'd hate to tell you to keep the RAID and have a drive go down in a few months. I really don't...

Is there a SCSI option for the boot devices? Not sure if the IS7 has southbridge integrated SATA, but if it doesnt, most boards deal with SATA just like SCSI.

amd 2500+ barton or p4 2.6 ghz ht?

However, if you prefer to run your RAM at 1:1, both the processor and the RAM will be much cheaper if you go AMD for OCing. But if money isn't an issue, as much as I love the Barton, and AMD, I would say go with the P4.
