This sounds to me like maybe you don't have anything plugged in to the CPU fan connector so the system
is shutting down to protect itself.
One system I worked on had to have something (a fan) there regardless of how the BIOS was set.
Could that be the problem?
Newegg must either have some elves working late, or some crazy script that does whatever it wants. Or maybe it's timed and the longer refurb items are up, the cheaper the shipping? 3 hours ago I saved the Newegg product pages for a Lian-Li case and a Silverstone, that were both showing $15...
When companies produce products and nobody buys them, they are more likely to just quit producing the product.
There has to be enough interest at the higher prices that early product development costs justify, for a company to even want to stay in the market. Lowered prices for consumers can...
uxtheme is the file that gets patched or replaced with a patched version, to allow the application of themes.
Search for UXTHEME.dll and rename it to UXTHEME.old, and reboot. That will tell you right there if that is your problem.
This is interesting. I have a Seagate 80 Barracuda ATA100, and I knew this was not the
same model number. The model number you give is for serial ATA, not ATA 100. So I wonder
which it is that you are getting at that price? I wouldn't think Serial ATA's would be
clearanced already, since the...
For me, XP was in the swap file a lot. I just didn't notice it until I bumped up to 256Mb ram.
Then there was so much less disk activity that I realized it.
There are many services in XP that for most people can be turned off or set to manual.
I'd investigate that, as it saves memory...
I hate this forum!
2 systems here, one with a 80GB Seagate from a deal a year or so ago (when I loved AT) :) and one with a dying
IBM 60GXP warranty replacement (I hate IBM too haha). After watching this forum a while and not seeing much
for hard drive deals, I walked into a local Fry's for...
My Epson 880 gives jagged lines too... I wonder what causes that?.... and rapid depletion of ink, yeah I guess that too, but I expected that (stupid printer cleans it's heads about every time it's used).
Anyone have any recommendations on an inkjet printer to look out for a deal on, that...
Yup.. your link worked and all. Looks like a legit offer. hah.. along with that page I got a popup window
offering free software "Anne Hooper's Ultimate Sex Guide" for the PC. At least it didn't say ON the PC. :)
I see A/V inputs on the back and front but no outputs. Having outputs is useful for recording and such.
Still, $135 seems like a great deal on a small stereoTV for near the computer or a bedroom of something.
I'd like to hear what buyers of this deal (here, not on chubby wallet) have to say...
The Great Trade-In promotion coupon is only useable for another power tool.
The coupon mentioned that started this thread might be their 10% off anything
for people who recently moved. I think that promo has been posted on here with a
link to a sign up page, but the page may be gone now. If I...
I hear ya there, but with profits so low on computer hardware anymore, 1 year (and less, when a loophole can be found) is where everything is headed.
Seagate, Maxtor and Western Digital all revised their desktop hard drive warranties to one year, in drives shipped (from the manufacturers) as...
It's not Seagate that is the problem there.. or that the drive is OEM packaged. The problem is that you bought an OEM drive from Dell, and Dell opts to buy them at a lesser price and replace any bad drives themselves. Dealers like Newegg have also been known to sell hard drives (and other...
I used to buy bulk packed Intel CPU's (blue plastic tray), and the warranty was always 21 days; that being the length of time the distributor would exchange them. This was back when PC components often had a 1 year warranty. Now I know that stores like Newegg don't buy enough to buy direct from...
I agree. The fans in most power supplies are garbage anyway, so a nice name brand replacement with ball bearing is good insurance against problems in the future. I cut the wires, splice, solder and use shrink tubing, but small "wire nuts" from Radio Shack, etc. will work also. Just make sure the...
From the site's Quick FAQ:
Nutshell is cool, how much does it cost?
Bah. Nutshell, like everything else I write, is free. When you do searches using the Amazon item in the toolbar, Nutshell sends along an Amazon
Associate ID. That Associate ID belongs to Nutshell. You pay nothing extra for...
It took me a while to figure oot what the heck you were asking.. but yes, I have the answer.
In the Quick Search Deskbar folder, you'd edit the file "preferences.js". This is the section that controls
the behavior of that button:
/* Show the menu '>>' popup button?
* 0 = never
* 1 =...
I've also been looking for IE alternatives. I first tried a few browsers (Fastbrowser and Crazybrowser) that use the IE engine, and have tabs. Fastbrowser has a nice search box with a pulldown memory and several functions. FastBrowser isn't free, but has a trial. The function to change default...
Umax used to make GREAT scanners. Their Vista S6 and S12 series (SCSI) had very nice output,
installed easily and were a good value in their day. But, scanners cost a lot more money then.
I think the S12 was $449 or so, and the S4 ws probably $300. At those prices, support was
good, the...
Ok, it seems I forgot to update my email and lost my last attempt at a reply, due to "forbidden to post". Doh!
I looked around for a CPU comparator some time ago, and found this one at www.cpuscorecard.com.. They use a percentage scale, comparing against the fastest processor in their database...
Say, while we are on the subject of Trillian... I've not been able to stay connected to MSN,
using it or real MSN Messenger (an old version, smaller, etc.) for weeks now. MSN's Messenger
page says said they have some problems for weeks now also. People using MSN that connect
still all seem to...
Only one coming up now, for $108. :frown:
Just a FYI, there is a seller on that big auction site (e something, I think) :-) that sells Soltek boards and they say they
are the USA distributor, and all other sellers of Soltek are selling boards with no U.S. warranty, and defective boards will...
<< At a time when the digital formats are getting cheaper, I doubt people will have too much interest in the dead VHS format. No wonder the prices are dropping (but still expensive if you consider its utility value) ;) >>
...unless one has a whole pile of VHS or S-VHS tapes and wants to...
I must be missing something because the title of this thread says "Amazon.com/Target Has The T-Fal Set For 19.94 Now",
but all I see is talk of $30 + $15 shipping -$5 coupon = $40
I just sold my last 300A in a system before Christmas. *pauses* for a moment of silence. . .
Great little CPU's. I quit collecting stuff so much since I had so much of it and had to move and
store much of it... so 300A's are out for me, but I think I still have an opening screen graphic for...
Must be a really big person who wrote the listing for that item, when it says "It is black and compact
and slips past airline agents. Tuck the bag under an arm and move nimbly through the typical airport
maze. Slide the whole package into a small rental car.", and the dimensions are 48x28x10...

<< Can't find any real reviews on this motherboard. I had the Iwill XP333-R, and was going to get the Abit KR7A-Raid, but this board, from Shuttle's claims, is faster that the KR7A-R. I'm hoping that I can utilize my two ATA133 drives under raid, and also upgrade from my PC2700 DDR333, to the...
<< Hey I'll start my own deal...half-off rectal exams for everyone! My clinic's been a little slow anyway. Usually medicare reimburses at $120 for a good prostate exam but I'll do them all for $60 cash money. Ladies, perfect gift for the hubbie. Make your V-day special. >>

<< Check z-buys reseller ratings, read some of the comments. Wouldn't touch these guys with a 10 ft pole. 4.9 out of 7.0 >>
Whoa. Hold on a little. Some friends from work and myself have made several purchases recently from Z-Buy. All transactions have been flawless - items received as...
Not unless you have the same model and you happen to get the same model CD-ROM that you already own and the part that is bad in yours, is good in the one you get. Newegg doesn't even give the brand/model of "REFURBISHED: Dead CD ROM" they are selling.
I guess my question would be why you posted...
