I have a Sony CD writer at home, the other day I began having "Could not perform Fixation" errors trying to burn some pictures of my daughter using Nero and TDK CDRs. No problem using Storax CDRWs.
I thought the media used was bad and to be thrown away but my wife suggested me to take them to...
I was just wondering and apologize if you consider this OT,
Why and how water evaporates from the soil? I mean no way it gets any close to 100 Celsius so it should be in a solid state in the atmosphere. Does it get in a solid state to the clouds? Or is there any energy I am missing involved...
I have already looked for info on the net, that is how I know about that file and the settings.
The problem is I do not have the file and Microsoft would not give me a new CD for free :(
I lost my original WinXP CD, I keep all the content saved in a disk.
However I would like to make a bootable CD, but I can only find the .img file that comes with the Windows 2000 CD. My fears are if I can get a bootable CD and if so if it will work as the original.
Thanks Guistavo.-
Anyone knows if the boot information from the Windows 2000 CD in the file 'Microsoft Corporation.img' is the same as the one that comes in the Windows XP CD?
I mean the file 'Microsoft Corporation.img' file is the same?
Sorry, for the stupid question,
Gustavo.-:o
Which cache architecture in your opinion is better? Considering exclusives allow for a greater amount of data but also more latency. And of course all you can say on the subject

I need info regarding what kind of fans are those packaged with a boxed TBred (rpm, subjective noise level) and heatsinks (how good they perform).
Thanks Gustavo.-
I downloaded a video from the AMD site explaining how to install a processor and here I quote what it says:
I had the understanding that thermal grease was ever needed in order to get better cooling, what you think friends, was I wrong?
Thanks Gustavo.-
I have a new stick of PC2100 DDR memory with 1 year of warranty. After extensive debugging because of suspicious seldom BSODs I found using the extended test number 8 of Memtest 2.8 version 3.0 an error on some address at the last 8MB of the stick.
So now I know the module is defective but is...
I know is a stupid question, but I thought maybe someone of you would be kind enough to provide some link to understand what is the Kerberos intended for.
Thanks Gustavo.-

I do not see any problem, is was a friend of mine who described exactly the same thing you describe now. As nobody else until now had the same behaviour I instaled the patch anyway. Seems like there is something strange.
Gustavo.-
Just to know if anybody installed the update and had any troubles.
I see you have not any problems (do not know if because did not upgrade)
Thanks for your time anyway, Gustavo.-

I have a 56X CDROM and a SB Live! Audio card, the connections available between them are
- a 4 pins analog audio connection
- a 2 pins (CD SPDIF) Digital audio connection
Should I connect both ? Or just one ? In the second case which one ?
Thanks Gustavo.-

It is a file named 'Catalog.LiveSubscribe' located depending on your OS:
Win 9X/Me :- C:\WINDOWS\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveSubscribe
Win 2K/XP :- C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveSubscribe
Best regards, Gustavo.-
Thanks ojai00, but I have the built-in firewall disabled. It is not the problem is as if the server required validation for each object to allow access to it.
I consistently have this problem, can access this secure site (cannot give details) from any kind of windows clients but Windows XP.
No problem from a Win2K, neither Win98 client, but from WinXP it first notifies you the SSL certificate is not Microsoft validated (it is not, but still is Ok)...

So, my only choice is just listening actual noises ?
Any of you have an opinion of the Speeze quoted above ?
No more choices, some cheap coolermaster and then all no brand products :(
Gustavo.-
Ok, now you point out 2 more items to take into consideration (fan size & fan speed) as it affects the 'kind' of noise' (whining).
I have 2 choices here now to take seriously, and remember the most important aspect i care about is noise, all data taken from their respective datasheets:
Volcano...
No, no, no, Jhhnn was understanding my point.
The Volcano 6+ is too loud im my opinion as Jhhnn said the volcano 5 is tolerable then I as a point of comparison wanted to know how he considers the 6+.
I do not care about cooling performance, I care about noise and the 2 examples are just to...
I am from Uruguay (South America).
Just to make myself the entire picture, they also offer here the volcano 7, what would you say about this one ?
I mean you say the volcano 5 is tolerable...
Thanks for your help
Gustavo.-
Look Jhhnn, the problem must be viewed from a general outlook because in my country there are no much choices, you got to choose from 'discarded' products at the first world.
But yes, they have here the Volcano 5 that should be well known for you. At the datasheet it says 32 dBa, how bearable...
In order to choose a cpu heatsink-fan combo I give priority number1 to the noise issue.
I have found the unit of measure they give at the datasheets is dBa an then numbers in the range from 24 dBa to 47 dBa (The Volcano 7 at high speed).
Could you help me understand, without listening to the...
