Quiet HSF for 4870

Another vote for the Accelero + a 120 mm fan. Had it on my 4850 and now on my 4890. Dead silent and works great. Only problem is I had to take out the side fan on my Antec 900 case because of how much the Accelero sticks out. But it's worth it because it's oh so quiet now. No more jet engine!

Question about cooling after shutdown

Is there a good way to keep a fan or two running even after shutting down a computer? I've been thinking about some sort of alternative powered fan - maybe battery powered. Any ideas? I'm primarily interested in keeping some air on my video card after shutdown to cool it down. Thanks.

Phenom 9600 ?'s

I've been using a 9500 for about 6 months now and have not had any problems whatsoever. No BSODs - nothing. I use it for light gaming and daily use. I have been happy with it. $75 is a bargain. If you don't want it, please let me know!

What to do with a Dell Windows XP Reinstallation CD?

Question: I have a Dell Reinstallation CD with Windows XP Pro on it. It was installed on a computer and activated but the computer has since been dismantled. It's not in use on any machine so should it be shredded? I hate to throw it away but I guess there's no use for it. Thanks.

Bought a Xfire mobo - should I buy a HD3870?

Thanks for all the input and advice. On my budget I'll probably see if I can grab a couple 3870s on the cheap when the 4870s come out (maybe buy a 4870 at some point). Thankfully my PSU is crossfire ready.

Media converter?

Not sure what format Youtube uses but if it will take .wmv files then the best thing is to download Windows Media Encoder. It's available for free on Microsoft's web page. It will take MM files and convert them to .wmv. Hope that helps.

PC3200 running slow at PC2700 speeds

Thanks for the replies. The motherboard is a Chaintech VNF3-250 and I have 2 sticks of ram installed. When the computer boots the motherboard checks the ram and say the memory frequency is 333 mhz. I'll try setting the DRAM to SPD. Thanks again.

PC3200 running slow at PC2700 speeds

Is SATA 300 backwards compatible with 150?

I'm in the market for a SATA HDD and I'm looking at some SATA I and SATA II drives. My motherboard manual says it's compatible with SATA version 1 at 1.5Gb/s. Thinking toward the future, I was thinking of buying a SATA II if it's backwards compatible. Thanks for the help.

Sorry I didn't answer this sooner. I have a Dell Axim X3i. I did some digging and found Pocket Hexen and it works great. I also got some Doom II wads and they work great with Doom4CE. I'd still like to find Pocket Heretic though.
