Hi Shaggybrow,
I've had a similar rig (Great rig!!!) during a year and a half too:
Abit NF7-S Rev 2.0
AMD XP 2800 (333 FSB)
2X256 OCZ PC3200
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
I've ypgraded for a s939 mobo called ABIT AV8. It runs with a 64 3500+ CPU. I've kept my old Radeon 9700 pro. It...

Maybe the PSU can't give anough juice to that baby.
Are you sure of the way you connected buttons and LEDs on the mainboard? Check it twice, and then try with another PSU.
Go to the official silicon image site.
Use the red blinking button "Product Support"
In the new window: "Downloads", "Drivers", the 10469 article in "Sil3x12", use the link on the right labelled "3x12_x86xrdvr_logo_10047.zip".
These drivers seems to be WHQL. They work great on both A7N8X-E...
Obviously if you're using an unattended windows setup cd it won't install using the F6 trick.... unless you integrated the silicon image drivers in the cd.
From mooncancook: "the theory that we come from apes which orginally come from bacterii just don't make sense."

I currently have a KD7 with an athlon XP2100+ palomino, and 512Mo of generic RAM. It overclocks to 1900MHz.
I'm shopping for a new CPU. I currently have 2 solutions:
1. XP2400+ TBred @ 159?
2. XP2500+ Barton @ 228?
What kind of OC can I hope with these CPUs?
Which one would you shop?
Any...
I don't think that this board is able to handle a PAL8045. It is a huge ;-) concern for me!
Anyone knows if the Alpha fits on it?
The ABIT NF7-8X won't accept it cos there is no holes around the socket.
Seems like I will keep my VIA board.
I would agree with Insane3D, BUT if you want more features like Firewire, SATA, Gigabit LAN, AGP8X... the A7V8X is a good DDR board. I currently run an ALPHA PAL8045 on mine. No problem at all.:)
Yes a soundcard THAT cheap is crap. BUT a cheap soundcard like the SBlive (which is still cheap, in my opinion!) is good enough to play.
Well cheap does not mean cheap!
Am I clear?
Personally I dislike onboard sound, generally the sound quality is bad, and it uses the CPU to work...
If you wanna play, even a cheap soundcard is better than onboard sound.:disgust:
I got both a KT333 and a KT400, in real life I just can't see any improvements in performance. You simply get new features like USB2 with the new 8235 southbridge. Basically its the same...
In the near future VIA's KT333s will simply be KT400s without AGP8X support.
