    Does anyone know how well a X1950XTX 512MB compares to a HD 3850? The reason why I ask is because I've seen some x1950XTX 512MB in the FS/FT forum going for $150 even. But, the HD 3850 is about $175 new with less VRAM (256MB). I probably shouldn't be cross shopping the two, but the X1950XTX...

    You can probably find a decent X850 Pro AGP card used or refurbished from the FS/FT forum or auction site for less than $50 and still be powerful. You can then probably find a decently priced 500w PSU from most local shops as well. The PSU and Video card add on should cost below $100.

    The chassis horrible. Just the internal design alone tells me they're struggling innovation wise. Chenming got it right with the mATX 118 platform. The PC-V300 was a decent try when I had it. But, this one is just ridiculous.

    Have they incorporated any of the Chrome25 technology into their IGP's yet? It was marvel back then what they were able to do TDP wise and Clock wise for the segment. It would've been nice to have it paired up with a good CPU for IGP performance.

    I had the same issue. I just replaced the HSF with a new heatsink fan. Lower temps and longevity of the HSF combo.

    That Spire HSF is way too much money. I only paid $7 for my TT TR2 M3 with a copper bottom. It's quiet and does a decent job at cooling with the copper contact on the bottom.

    It also depends on your chassis design. You can add largest heatsink on the market and still receive negative results do to an inefficient air flow design. What kind of chassis do you have?
