Problems with Fortron 530

Need a new HDD fast

Yea I plan on doing that, but I need a replacement fast. Anyone have any other opinions other than the WD JB SE drives? I think i'm looking into getting a single platter which would be faster than 2 platters right?

Wait you guys are proving it with all these sine forumlas and etc. Someone ask me this question and he said this was a 9th grade math question, meaning 9th grade geometry without any of these calc functions. Is there any other way or proving it? Since i am really baffled

Laptop DVD-Rom

its been done already, http://www.themexp.org has tons of dreamcast boot screens, themes, icons, sounds blah blah, mac icons, everything you want. All yo ugotta do is follow the instructions to installing it. my boot screen is a mac, and so is my logon for xp, and also my entire desktop...

What fan and Heat sink to choose

if your board fits, get the alpha 8045 with a panaflo l1a, m1a or h1a. If you want the ultimate cooling solution, either get the mcx462 with the above panaflo fans, or go for water, which is silent!!

whats the best pc2700 for o/c?

have heard of xms2700 at 200 fsb 2-2-2 1t 4way, also have saw xms2400 at 210 2-2-2 1t 4way, yup corsair is awesome. Havent seen any kingsmax do 200+ yet, but i do know some of them are 5ns chips if you are lucky, and if you are not you will get some 7ns chips.

Need Help with O/Cing my Athlon XP at 150fsb

1c maybe all it takes to crash your computer. Maybe you were on the border line before. If you running with a closed case, take the sides off, and see if your comp is stable. Use Prime95 to test for stability.

problem with P4 2.0A o/c

yes 20% is quite a lot for a p4 .13 micron already. Note the sites that had their p4s up to 3ghz, asked to recieve chips that would hit that high. Not all p4s can make to 3ghz, as for your chip you might have just gotten a bad chip. For your fsb, it may just be that your motherboard cant take...

Write Recovery Time?

I found this in the bios. Can anyone help me out on this one? I have no idea what it does. It does improve some of my sandra scores, but by very little. The options are 3T, 2T, 1T so I know they are timings. What do these timings pertain to? the memory or the motherboard? If i can find this out...

benchmarks are better than nothing, since 2 websites obtain a rather similar result, then i think it does mean something.. There is always the real world benchmark, how the processor reacts in real world situations, that can not measured, guess we will have to wait till everyone get theirs hands...

the 2.9ghz could not bench as well as the 2.ghz xps. also when the .13 micron cheaps of xp come out the will also be as overclockable as the northwoods. lower micron, less voltage, more overclockability, unless intel locks the damn thing before it is released, multi and fsb.

How come SSE is not detected on my Athlon 4 processor?

athlon 4 is the xp, what are you using to see if sse is dectected or not? are you using Wcpuid? if you are and its not listed i would bet that the bios isnt updated enough.

Is Thermal Grease conductive?

you are using grease to fill the pits? thats kinda hard, since the grease isnt solid your conductive ink can get everywhere. i think you should use super glue, or crazy glue, or anything that is adhesive and drys up into a solid. then you can go over it with conductive ink and pair up the bridges.

Expected results?

uhh your fsb cuts out? what is the chipset on that one?i know the orginal kt266 usb cuts out around 138 fsb. anyway i dont think its your hard drive killing your ocing, it might be your ide controller, but me thinks its the motherboard.
