I have the P4B533 board and it is just awesome. Although I am having some power issues on the 3.3v. It is dropping down to 3.0 during heavy graphics use but it doesn't effect the performance of the frame rates as far as I can tell. I have a 2.4 OC'd to 2.52 and got a 13,000+ 3DMark2001SE...
elimcpheron,
Have you lapped your SK-6? I had similar temps with mine until I lapped the heatsink. It amazed me once I started lapping it how bad the mounting surface wasn't flat. It took me about 45 minutes to get it flat. I have it flat now with a 80mm 50cfm fan on it now and my temps...
While it is a good deal for a PIV 2.0 I will not ever buy another Gateway PC. Reason being, I won the Gateway Challenge and got $2500 towards the purchase of a Gateway PC. I ordered the Best I could get within that limit. It is a PIV 1.8, I upgraded the RAM to 512megs, I got the best video...
<< I'll be the first to say it...Deer is a horrible horrible company. Don't buy this power supply unless you enjoy watching your power supply explode and take everything in your box with it. I'm serious. >>
I agree. I had a bad experiance fried a new 1.4 TBird and have heard some real...
Well to really answer your question. I just ordered a Epox from Newegg...LOL I've got to send my current mobo in for RMA and I cant live without a PC so I chose the Epox. Only thing I really don't care for is the VIA drivers but it seems to be the way to go right now ;)
Tough call there. I've never had one of either but have heard good things about both. I'd prolly pick the 8KHA+ because a friend of mine has one and he has it smoking. But then again I like trying new things ;)
I need a 80mm fan that puts out 50cfm. I have two but have put them in my chassis now and want to get one to put on my SK-6. This 68cfm Delta is killing me and driving the squrrels outside nuts ;)
If you have your voltage adjusted higher than the board recommends just disable the 3.3 monitoring. My psu unit's fan is a tick slower than what the board thinks is good so I just disabled the monitroing of it.
I have the PC-65. I love mine. I've had it for about 2 months and it is by far the nicest case I have ever owned. Tooless and painless to put together and change things later. I have switched mobo's and cpu's. The HD bay has two thumb screws and its out. I don't think you would be sorry...
<< If u hust have a brief look aroung the forum you will notice that many people have problems with Asus kt266a crap.:|:|:|..myself had to change it for an kr7a-raid.
So you better take another mother....Kr7a-raid was fine for me....no problems at all.. with win2k... >>
I just got mine last...
I just got a PC-65. All I can say is AWESOME! The craftsmanship it outstanding. And talk about an easy case to install all the componants in...dude, spend a little more money and get the best.
<< I would imagine your Temp Monitor is wrong. It seems a little high. Is the Heatsink hot to the touch? >>
No. It don't even really feel warm to touch.
I recently upgraded from my Codegen Tower to a Lian Li PC-65. I put in a new ASUS 266-E and my old 1.4 T-Bird with a SK-6 and 7000 rpm YS-Tech fan. Right now I am idling at 50 C and hitting 55-60 C under full load. I have lapped the SK-6 and have a mirror finish on it. The fan is blowing and...
I've got a A7V133 KT-133A mobo. I guy put the chip in and was messing in the BIOS and said the chip was getting hot so he shut it down after doing a few changes in the bios. Now it won't boot at. The power light comes on and the chip looks perfect. Any Ideas on what to do to get this thing...
BINGO!! Thanks Madcow that is it. Now I've got two do ;)
<edit>that is the link but not the thread I was searching unless I dreamed it a week ago;) Maybe I should start telling fortunes...?
Someone posted a link a week or so ago with a vary good article on the steps and what materials are needed. I have searched and looked for it but cannot find it. Could someone please re-post it please?
I have this PS in my current system and it's pushing a 1.4 Not OC'ed. G3 video card, 2-92mm and 1-80mm fan. 56X CD, Iomega zip and a 5.1 sound card. No problems so far and the system passed it's first LAN party last weekend.
