    actually, I had to do a naked XP install non Service Pack 1 the other day on my machine....I went to plug in the ethernet to get the service pack and updates and such...as soon as I went to windows update and nothing more, I got 15 or so popups and several search bars installed...

    See if you have 12 in a row on the back.... all fit together then its not a 3.06ghz part...not saying it wont reach 3ghz. But check out the 3.06ghz review on this site here anandtech, they show a shot of the cap configuration under the chip. My 1.8a looks just like that, my first 1.8a 2 of them...

    I just downloaded this BIOS for my 4PEA+ and I DO NOT get the 4:5 ratio unlocked for my memory, and I really need it cause I am running 160+ FSB and memory dont go past 420mhz or so.... 3:4 is way too aggressive for it and 1:1 SUXORS! any reason why it dont show my 4:5? I havea P4 1.8A OCed...

    well, that doesnt explain its sensitivity to higher voltage. EXTREEM sensitivity that is. cause I know I could argue that Nvidias NV25 is 1.5x bigger then both of the cores too. but people pump tons of extra V into those with no prob. lol

    OK, what I did was run sandra burn in wizard couple times and I monitored the activity in MBM5 every 5 seconds. at idle according to MBM5 the CPU runs 1.68V at about 38-39C When the burn in wizard kicks in....the CPU Vcore drops to 1.63 and the temperature goes up to around 43-44C is this ok?

    WOW! THANKS GUYS I didnt know that. I knew these processors were more voltage sensetive, but I thought that was to the point of temperature wise. Thanks for tellin me to lower it.... I lowered it to 1.7v in the BIOS which is prolly 1.65 MBM5 switches back and forth between 1.65 and 1.68 around...
