New to SCSI - which ID should I use?

How do i remove Athlon Socket A CPU from socket?

Can you not just mount a h/sink and pull straight up? Not ideal, but better than trashing your mobo. Friend of mine did this... and both components still work. Regards, Jonty.

Can this non-DDR board actually use DDR RAM?

Ladies and Gentlemen, A colleague of mine has a Microstar 6534 mobo which doesn't use DDR memory. MSI's web-site mentions that PC133 memory should be used as opposed to PC100 to help keep the system more stable. Question is, does this mean the board could use PC2100 DDR RAM although it won't...

RTCW - saved games hang

Thanks for the updates guys. There *could* be a cure! On the MSI forum someone has upgraded to the latest 'leaked' nVidia drivers (v27.10) and apparently his infinite loops problem has been cured. Fingers crossed this will solve my (our) problem with RTCW. Regards, Jonty.

How do I set network user permissions in XP???

I'd noticed this when first attempting to share folders; I went into Folder Options (in Control Panel) and un-checked Simple File Sharing. Hey presto, accounts, permissions, etc etc. Regards, Jonty.

Problems with Hibernate in W2K Pro

Hi, Have you tried disabling Hibernation in your Power Management and re-enabling (with a reboot in between)? I wonder if this would re-create the Hib. file and possibly remove the problem... Worth a shot... Regards, Jonty.

Strange problem w/ Ghost in Win ME

You need to make sure that similar ATA/UDMA (whatever!) devices are on the same channel. If a /66 is twinned with a /33 device then both will run at /33. Same goes for a /100 with a /66. You'll lose the advantage if you mix. Keep the 100s together, so on and so on. I read this on the AMD...

I've just bought one of these cabled from http://www.overclockers.co.uk/ It's a very sexy cable, but not 100% if there's any improvement. To be honest, I thought the idea of the original UDMA66 cables was to have the insulating strip between each data strip. Surely having all the strips...

PC2400 DDR when NOT overclocking

Currently using some PC2100 DDR RAM with my 1.2 T'bird. Just taken receipt of a nice copper HS+F so plan to go via the o/c'ing route. If I change my RAM to PC2400 DDR instead, if I decide NOT to o/c will this render the 2400 RAM a waste of time? Not sure whether PC2400 DDR should only be used...
