Also, I should add, if anyone has suggestions for a heatsink/fan combo for the CPU that would be great. I rarely use the included retail option, unless this one happens to be really great. I would prefer something that uses a 120mm fan, as I love the balance of quiet and powerful it provides...

I guess I'lll get a flash drive for that purpose. The good news is that I flashed the older F4 BIOS (Using @BIOS) and everything is peachy again. Thanks for all of your suggestions.

I guess I don't have to have it. However, I have no floppy drive. How can to go back to an old BIOS without one? Will burning the stuff to a CD work? Can that BIOS update program make use of the DVD-RAM drive?

I have a Gigabyte P35-DS3R, so it came with EasyTune5. I'm quite sure it's compatible. Also, can't you play with the memory timings via the BIOS, but then adjust clockspeed/FSB/memory with EasyTune?

Vista Hard Drive Partition Size?

I also feel like at least 2 partitions is the way to go. I usually like 3 partitions. I have one for the OS, one for applications, and one for data. That way it is much easier to wipe the bitch clean if it needs to happen, and we all know that it's going to happen at one time or another.

4 GB of ram vs 2 GB of ram makes a huge difference - Up to 18 % performance difference

Interesting. I'd like to see a similar comparison done on an XP machine. I don't plan on going Vista for a long time. In fact, I still run Windows 2000 on the box I'm on right now.

The PSU that comes with that case is an Antec Smartpower 450W. That's one reason I picked that case. I have had nothing but success with Antec PSUs in the past and they are generally very reasonable on noise.
