Z560s vs. AL 641s vs AL 621s?

641:D:|:Q:P:cool: I've heard both side by side, playing the same program [i.e. music]. IMO/IME, the 641's were defenitely more transparent and musical than the Z560's. I'd go w/ the 641's.

HS good enough for Geforce3 Ti200?

Newbie w/ newbie questions

The pad usually comes with the heatsink, pre-applied or separately. If you get a retail boxed CPU, it will come with a heatsink with thermal pad already applied.

Cooling questions/cooling my system

It's not really as confusing as you might think. Intake or exhaust depends on how you orient the fan: have it blowing into the case and its an intake fan, flip it around to blow air out of the case and its an exhaust. Simplistically, you would want to put the intake at the bottom front of the...

Would this work?

How about if you use the mobo's hd light header to activate a small enough relay to swith on the power to the CC? The relay would have to be quick and hold up to constant switching.

Im Ticked Off, And there's a Good Reason Why!

Was there somekind of thermal interface material [like a pad or some gray stuff] at the bottom of the HS? Did you remove it before installing it and using the paste on the cpu? If the TIM was still on, plus the paste, that would explain the poor performance of the HSF. Unless you scraped off the...

mounting 3rd harddisk in enlight 7237 case,,,

I have a CD-R and a DVD drive occupying the top 2 bays. I bought 2 pairs of 5 1/4 to 3 1/2 adapter rails for the 2 hds I was installing in the bottom 2 bays. For cooling, I cut up 2 bay covers to accomodate 2 60mm fans, like how it was done here. I left the space under the floppy open since I...

I read this tutorial (which has been updated since) and this one before I built my first machine. After that was some RTFM time. As for OC'ing the 1.5, I just recently read throught this article. He was eventually able to push the 1.8 to 2.7 with a voltage mod on the P4 and with some choice...

Try this, Click Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information > Tools menu > System File Checker > Extract One File From Installation Disk The vnetbios.vxd file should be in your windows installation disc.

Um.. It's Chenming that makes the cases, no? Cheiftec, Antec and Enermax re-badges and bundles them with the PS's and fans. 'Least that's what I heard last. Great case nonetheless.

Replace the "fdisk.exe" in your boot floppy with this fdisk.exe. That's what I used on a 2x40G Maxtor in Raid 0.

Recommendations for a Graphic Design computer??

Checking out the aceshardware link, a single P4 2.4 was faster than a Dual MP 2k+. It also showed that an XP 2100+ was faster in most cases than the P4. And the P4 is running on RDRAM (according to this), the Athlons were on DDR. Don't know if that makes any difference.

Problems with an Athlon XP2000+ and A7V133

I have that board (A7V133) running a 1.4G T-bird @ 133MHz FSB. It's been a while but IIRC, I had to set the Vcore .05v lower than default as the default setting was +/- .07v higher (as read in the BIOS' 'Power' section). Another thing that was giving a problem was that danged virus protection...
