Anyone know how to disable the sleep on these hard drives? Mine seems to go to sleep far too quickly.
Other hard drives had a AAM tool but this one apparently doesn't.
I've used Acronis for YEARS, having moved from Ghost. Acronis has gotten much too bloated for me lately and I've jumped ship to Macrium Reflect Pro.
Macrium even has a completely free version.
While I understand the level of support is non-existent on Intel's "self-help" community forums differs compared to the well-meaning but pointless OCZ-official-tech-support forums, the level of polish in Intel's SSD Toolbox software compared to the rinky dinky amateur hour SSD flashing program...
I've come back onto the AT forums here after a few years sabbatical to vent that building my brand new Mini-ITX system with an Asus P8H67-I Deluxe mobo, my OCZ Agility 3 SSD died after exactly 6 days--BSODing and disappearing from BIOS. First with 2.11 firmware and then on a brand new second...
Win7 backup system image and restore hosed my HD somehow. I was testing it and the backup-restore worked twice until the third time it hung at the BIOS detecting the SATA port in AHCI mode after completing the restore. Note, this worked twice before without issue.
It's not the HD, the cable...
Now after reading up on the official spec, I know eSATA ports output more juice and the external cables are shielded but...is there any harm in using one of the onboard SATA ports on my mobo (that does not specifically support eSATA or port multiplication)to go to a backplate exSATA port to use...
Has anyone been able to turn on the JMicron SATA port/controller for use in Vista? I had to install with it turned off. The thing is, I can turn it on in XP and it will detect the driver so I can use my eSATA enclosure with it.
Nothing hooked up to the JMicron port on the board, just the...
does anyone have any suggestions on how to get ubuntu 7.04 installed? i am using sata ports for 2 hd, and the third one for the sata burner. install cd gives me 'comreset error' failing to detect anything on ata#
anyone know how to prevent the 320kb unknown config disk from appearing and making windows want to initialize it? i have 2 hd in the first 2 red sata connectors and am using AHCI mode.
OSX periodically wants to initialize it but can't.
pctwo: Acronis True Image is really the best of its class imaging program. You just have to do that workaround every time. You can get ISOs with the switch already part of it but we can't set it ourself.
The non-ACPI builds are not always up to date with their newest version unfortunately...
UPDATE ON ACRONIS TRUEIMAGE FREEZING:
I tested for 5 hours every which way. It would freeze randomly during usage of the boot CD/ISO. It's because the Linux runtime environment is incompatible with this board's ACPI implementation.
You have to type in manually, every time (!) you want to...
In an X-QPack, video (7800GT with VF700-AlCu) runs extremely hot in tight quarters with the mess of USB cables tied up to the crossbar and the slot below the video card blocked by an Audigy 2 ZS.
105C load (!) which is near the 115C threshold the drivers specify for throttling down, 65C idle...
derekn:
case: Aspire X-Qpack black with no-window
psu: Seasonic S12-430W
hd: 1xSamsung SpinPoint P80 SATA II 160GB HD (returned P120 250GB since they were all noticeably noisier) HD160JJ...might get another one. screwed in with rubber grommets (Nexus anti-vibration mounting kit) but the...
With the PSU on properly, getting 40C idle, 55C load (haven't tested for certain by gaming though) but holy hell is PC Alert 4 the worst piece of crap ever...
those temps should be acceptable since i'm running everything undervolted for silence.
I hope Speedfan supports this board soon.
any news on when this will get supported in speedfan? it seems to support the foxconn board.
...does anyone's mobo beep on startup when initializing usb etc? 1-2-3 beeps? they're not post errors.
hey guys, i'm getting 45-50c idle in v3.00 with a 3700 in an x-qpack. is this too high or low? do later bios version 'corrections' lower or raise the temp measurements?

For those that want slightly beefier cooling but w/o lifetime warranty and the slighly higher clock speed of the XFX Xtreme.
I don't think it's possible to passively cool the 7900 on the same slot.
i'm surprised by the amount of room in an aspire x-qpack and this mobo.
does anyone else's mobo beep on post? ie when starting it detects devices, and when i switch between kvm usb with scroll lock it beeps.
As someone who's just picked up the board to put into a HTPC/cube case (X-QPACK) I'd like to suggest an aside for a good low-mid end gaming card that doesn't disappoint (and won't break the bank) :
This is for beefy: http://www.xfxforce.com/web/product/lis...ils.jspa?productConfigurationId=198679
as an alternative viewpoint, i don't care for widescreen gaming as much i do portrait gaming
i'm about to get a $40us ergotron flex stand to rotate so i can play mame/raiden/cave shooters :)
beefy you expected too much, should have read the early reviews. it's a good basic card, the best out there, but all the dx9 support doesn't matter if the horsepower isn't there. expect to game at 800x600 w/o any extra effects on. for your 1280x1024 native lcd resolution you need at least...
the clip on the end of the pci-e slot to hold the pci-e video card in.
in most mobo's it's a retention 'clasp' or something you swing in and out. lever mechanism.
on the foxconn, it's not. it's a fixed piece of plastic with a hole that you slide the video card's edge into. and it then...
