My gigabyte 8KNXP flaked out while still under warranty. I sent it back to the factory and they couldn't repair it and didn't have any available 8KNXP boards left to send as a replacement. Any ideas on which of the current gigabyte offerings would be a comparable substitute for my 8KNXP?

The GA-8PENXP which the OP has and teh GA-8KNXP also support 4 sata and 8 pata. I have one of each. I don't have any sata drives, but I am currently running 2 opticals and 6 pata drives on both the 8penxp and the 8knxp.
The 8PENXP has 4 sata and 4 ide slots on board. You can run 4 sata connection drives and 8 ide connection drives and they do not have to be in a raid setup.
You could also do this with the 8KNXP.
I got all the memory to work together in single channel mode by putting the 4 256's in 1,2,4 &5 and the 512's in 3 and 6. Even bettter, I found a 256 stick at Staples that matched three of the four so I cna run 4 256's and 2 512's in dual channel.
I can't get all six memory chips to be recognized when I use 6 sticks all of which work work by themselves and in combination with any of the others. I'v e got a P4 1.6 400 fsb processor and am trying to use 2 sticks of 512 pny pc2100 ddr and 4 sticks of 256 pny pc2100 ddr. Any suggestions?
If the windows XP shipped with a new computer, it may not boot with a motherboard other than the original oem board. In this event, you can either do a clean install, or you can start the upgrade with the old board in place. After the windows XP upgrade is done gathering informaiton and is...

Actually, if you find it in stock the cases are ringing at $43.50 online. Some are able to get the rering to 43.50 as a low price guarantee price adjustment.
If you can find it, the Antec Sonata is $43.50 plus tax at B&M Staples.
what you could do is:
1) order from staples.com for $129.99 plus tax
2) return to your local B&M Staples
3) rebuy it immediately from your local staples for $43.50.
If all of this works and you still are adventurous, tale...

I believe Seagate is using www.rebatestatus.com. This site is used for amazon rebates (fast) and norton/symantec rebates (slowwwww) The speed with which we receive payment is not predictable.
thanks, kellybrf
The number makes it easier when I visit my local store to find out if they have any stock remaining and if not they can do a search for the part number in the local area.
The title says it all. Sign up for AOL at CompUSA. You'll get a $10 credit towards a purchase made during the same visit (they wouldn't let me use it to buy a $10 gift card). The first 3 months are free. Cancel any time during the first three months and you owe nothing.
this has been on clearance for a couple of months -- anyone that can still find one is lucky. If you do find one, you might want to search the web for a printable $30 coupon to make your luck even sweeter.
