...no, it's because 1600+ chips from NewEgg have recently been AROIA or AGOIA steppings. These have tended to be better overclockers than the AGOGA's.

Does the Epox 8K3a+ have a 1/6 PCI divider?

General consensus says that there is no 1/6 divider on the 8K3A series. Some say that it could be implemented but that EPOX choose not to. Others claim that the silicon simply can't do 200fsb stably.

How can you tell if you have kt333 "CE" chipset?

There definitely is a 1.2 revision of the 8K3A+ - I own one. I believe that the principal difference between versions 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 was that the 6-channel audio was introduced and also an SP-DIF interface was introduced. I don't recall which of the two came in with 1.1 and which arrived...

From an OC perspective, is it worth the $25 to get the XP1900+ over the XP1800+ ?

Athlon 1.2Ghz Multiplier

You'll probably have to mod the L10 bridges. They have two positions - one gives multipliers up to 12.5* and the other gives higher multipliers. My guess is that you tried 13* (from default 12* ?). Or, simply, the L1's are not properaly unlocked. See this guide.

If you had an ASUS P3V4X, Pentium III 600E, and 512MB PC133 RAM, what would you do??

Will XP pro run on a Dell Dimension XPS 200MMX !?

I have one of those PCs (same spec) running 98SE as a LAN fileserver. I wouldn't recommend anybody runs Win2k or XP on it. It uses SIMM chips, not SDRAM if that helps you.

What about PCI cards? I have a GF3 in the AGP slot and there's no reason to change that right now. Can anybody recommend a good PCI card? It would run a TFT panel, and wouldn't need to be especially good at games or have superb DVD playback - as those will happen on the main CRT monitor...

QUIET! cooler for an XP1800+

I vote for the Noise-Control Silverado. It's quite expensive, but you won't hear it over an average hard-drive. Cools my 1800+ @ 1.60GHz to 38C idle and 47C peak. Comes with 4 speed setting in-line resistors to vary the fan speed, but the fastest is still silent!

Athlon XP steppings and core markings

AGKGA is the original stepping mass-distributed. AGOGA was intro'd when the XP-2000+ was unveiled, and that stepping now features on some lower spec chips. The 2100+ was intro'd on a AGOIA stepping, so that will probably cascasde down the range as well eventually. Newer revisions tend to O/C...
