    I believe on this Dell computer you press F12 to enter the bios setup. The clone to the SSD was made via the USB Cable and if you take the SSD out of the enclosure and put it inside the computer it will boot up and run just fine. I figured there was a way to make it boot from the USB enclosure.

    You are a life saver! I did as Toshiba said in that link to change some bios settings and it windows 7 appears to be loading now. I only hope I can get drivers to make the installed hardware on the laptop to work correctly!

    Oh and another gripe on that newer HP laptop....the touchpad is about the size of a hockey rink and I can't type on it without rubbing up against the touchpad and moving the cursor around to places where it doesn't need to be.

    It's what I know and what I'm comfortable with. Gave windows 8.1 a try but it didn't do it for me. As long as windows 7 is available at whatever cost I'll go that route. Heck...I was happy with XP Pro.......let the stone throwing begin!
