i've been cooking for about 4 years now. to give you some perspective, alot of people love to cook, but to do it as a living...you have to have a passion for it beyond anything you can imagine.
i could tell you everything bad about getting into this career. but if don't know these thing...
moved out to LA from NJ/NYC 2 years ago. was originally gonna stay for a year and move back. but...i'm still here.
so i hope you know what you're doing.
i work as a line cook at a fine dining restaurant. horrible pay, horrible hours, mad stress, get burned and cut constantly, etc.
but in the end...nothing else in the world i'd rather be doing. most people leave the restaurant happy. it's extra rewarding when guests leave comments...
I went to Japan for two weeks about a month ago. I spent at least $1000 on food alone (I went to some nice places though). My friend lives in Tokyo so I saved some money, but I still spent about $2500 total I think...
If you go for at least a week and plan on traveling on the bullet...
i live in koreatown. the rent is cheaper here and it's not that bad of an area. it's 50/50 koreans and hispanics. in general, the more west you live in k-town, the safer it seems to be imho. other areas you should check out that are in the same general price range are echo park, silverlake...
yeah...i checked crucial first too. just to get a base price and all.
but shopping around dell, that $50 one is MIGHTY tempting. i mean i don't understand how memory can be propietory though like that for laptops.
i'm planning to upgrade a sony VAIO PCG-R505JL by adding a 256mb memory to it.
my question is, for laptops, should i get a memory module that is specifically designed for the sony vaio or do you think i can go with just any old memory module. (even ones that are NOT specifically designed for...

i ordered a 1800+ retail a week ago when the price was $67.50 or something like that. even though the website said the part number is AXDA( T-bred), the chip i recieved was only AX( palamo core). I didn't want to hassle with them so i didn't bother to send it back and ask for a t-bred. (don't...

i work in a fairly high quality restaurant in nyc. i just started my cooking career but from what i see, all the top end restaurants use all-clad. the lincoln pans are also used in some places but they are meant to be used for a short period of time (~6 months) and then thrown away. the...
2nd gen turbo rx7's are very hard to find these days. perhaps even more harder to find than a 3rd gen. the price is more than fair i think if the engine rebuild can be proved. obviously get a compression test to make sure. i had a non-turbo 2nd gen rx7 and honestly i will say that it is a...
