Thanks for the info mang.
Yeah if it were me and I was starting from scratch, I'd definitely go PCI-E and DDR2.
But I have a scavenged low end Athlon 64 socket 754 & hsf sitting right here along with her 2 gb of Corsair DDR1 in the machine currently and she has several IDE drives so, I'm...
I found a mobo/vga combo deal at Newegg I was thinking about using to replace my roomate's old kt400a / 2500 barton / 9600 pro combo that's dying.

I got the email this morning (didnt read it till now) and clicked the link right now, but I'm not seeing the promo code for the mushkin 512, I must be on crack. Where is it?
There may be an additional rebate at the B&M (read about it at slickdeals) which may drop it down to $99.99 which would make it pretty nice...

There's two different models of "Famous Brand" (Hanns-G in the pics) LCDs on sale at Tigerdirect, one of them looks suspiciously like one of those models on sale at PC Connection a while back. Both are analog dsub 17" 1280x1024, 12ms response, crappy integrated speakers, 169 before rebates, 99...
You might wait a little. With the intro of the 7300GT and the 7900GS I think the prices of 7600GT and 7600GS are going to fall and stabilize at a lower price point soon.
Now does someone know a voodoo ritual to bring ram prices back down?
Linkage
$88.88 - $20 = $68.88 AR (+ Tax & Shipping)
PCI-E, has a fan...
Please note some peeps are having issues with this card working in Asus & other boards - might be why it's so cheap - check out the thread before you buy.
(This item had a previous rebate of $30 but it's over and...
What with the DDR prices being what they are, I'm thinking of buying some open box ram from Newegg and I usually buy Corsair... Anyone know from experience what Corsair's policy is on open box sales - do they still carry the lifetime warranty?
Sorry if it's the wrong place, just didn't know...
Oh yeah, CC & BB are a total rip IMO. I only went there cause I needed batteries for my camera and didnt have time to charge my nimhs. I was just surprised due to having seen one on the shelf before the intarweb.
Considering the price was like 160 and you can get a PCI-e 7600gs biostar from...
I think it was like 150 or 160 or something. There seems to be a measly $15 rebate valid till the 22nd:
http://www.circuitcity.com/rpsm/oid/155589/rpem/ccd/RebateDetails.do
The part number on that page lists it as " EVGA e-GeForce 7600GS AGP (256A8N542DX) "
But it doesn't show up...
I think they had 3 on the shelf in Medford, OR. Think there may have been a rebate or something. Wonder how the performance is, I'd buy one but I'm replacing my whole rig when the price drops on the X2s and I'm going PCI-E and getting a 7600GT.
So, somebody buy one and tell us if it's as...
I have had this:
K-World TV Box
for about a year and a half and I'm pretty happy with it. The box itself works well and it's good for playing PS2, TV etc on my old CRT with my old cheap spare yellowed speakers. Looks way better hooked up to a CRT than an LCD. No widescreen resolution...
I have one of these in 256mb version i got from fry's, branded as.. hyundai? great for listening to podcasts, set up juice into wmp to reencode everything at 128kbps cbr and i think each battery lasts a week or more, few hours every day before i go to bed (sleeping disorder). Of course I only...
Posted in case this deal comes back to life.
I have issues with this board now after a few months - onboard nic developed issues from nowhere (didnt monkey at all with it and it was working fine, then random disconnects and issues with p2p programs) and the mobo loses time - replaced cmos...
Yeah I'm picking this up if its still available and the $60AR 1gb corsair and pairing it up with a 7600GS thats 109AR from mwave and overclocking the crap out of it. I'm done with AGP. Hope this board OCs okay.
I picked this combo up a while back for $10 more, cpu was retail w/HSF but not 64 bit. Motherboard is ok, nic is a little touchy with the drivers as mentioned in the other thread, & sometimes the bios just resets the date to 2000 - but it's cheap and its been running for months. Didnt bother to...
I have one. In my beater duron. In the garage. I think it's really for 12v crap like charging cell phones n shiz but it's perfect for pepsi drinking smokers who play WoW (cough).
I second Asrock, and their boards have been solid for my builds, k7s8xe+ was a great alternative to all the crappy budget via boards, had no problems w/ 9600 pros.
the adapter turns your line out and mic jacks into a 2x5 header. it turns your card's regular old 3.5mm jacks into the required 2x5 header complete w/pins, which then plugs into your case's 2x5 front audio leads. dig?
Just check the picture again and you should see... I couldn't make sense...
Here's an adapter from Frontx, it's the only solution I can find, but it'll work with any card so you won't have to rewire if you get another card later. Turns your card's jacks into a front audio header, still lets you use your speakers plugged in the back of your case, and mutes the speakers...
I don't know if it's awesome, but I've been using this black full tower Chieftec Dragon for like 4 builds now, it's kind of ugly next to my wife's lian li with the fish tank, but... functionally it's pretty dope. I mean hell, it has 6 external drive bays.
The X-Qpack is cute for small. I...
isopropyl works with a qtip but every once in a while isopropyl won't do jack. i had to use wd40 once to get this chewing gum looking crap off an old 1.2 tbird. i figured if it didn't work i'd just get once of those fancy new athlon xp's. unfortunately it worked fine and i still have it.
Heh sounds like a good idea, I should just hook him up to a 550 watt PSU and shove a burner in his butt, too bad the memory didn't make the dog any smarter...
grr I just ordered some green mushkin the other day, had it sent to my parents house for easter as i was gonna upgrade their system, and arrived to find the package HAD BEEN EATEN BY THEIR DOG the day after delivery, damn!

thanks for the find, guess I'll have...
Got these for a friend's build. They sound really good, and clean, only drawback is the sub just doesn't seem to have as much punch as the z640's (which seem to be discontinued now).
Just a heads up, I've encountered a bug with the latest drivers from viaarena. It screws up in XP with fast user switching and the control panel applet crashes. Works fine as long as fast user switching is disabled.
Other than that, and the volume bug, they're fine.
I have mine hooked up...
