This isn't news but it requires action on the purchaser to receive - If you bought certain Sony models on or after 10/26/06 you can get a free or reduced cost upgrade to Vista. The details can be found here.
After providing proof of purchase the Vista upgrade will ship once it is officially...
I just checked the Zones site. They have 21 different Sony VGN-BX models in stock. I've had direct links to their site break in the past so here's the path to the listing. Just click on Brands, Sony, Notebooks, then Vaio Professional, and then "Show me More". You can then refine the list to...
Details on the VGN-BX560B05 at Zones and the tech specs for the BX560B Series from Sony.
I forgot to mention. When I bought mine from Zones there was also a promotion going on that included a free 2nd battery.
Yes. Purchase the Sony Laptop that is part of the trade up program from ANY authorized dealer. You are free to find the best price. Some of us have obtained a good price at Zones. If you find favorable prices on other models at other dealers please post the details.
Update - I used the Dell trade in ($500) and purchased a VGN-BX560B05 for $800 from Zones. After shipping and taxes the net price will be around $375. This model includes a built-in camera and Bluetooth. The VGN-BX563B does not have the camera or Bluetooth.
Also, the program has been...
Acronis can make a bootable CD that allows you to image drives without having Windows running. Making the Acronis backup in this manner would yield the stable image file you described. It also works great on non-Windows drives/partitions.
The MicroCenter BF ATI HDTV Wonder deal is a good one. $99.99 after a $50 instant rebate and an ATI/MicroCenter $50.00 rebate. They had a huge number of them in my local store - even as late as 10:30 this morning. The price is good through 10 pm today. I think they still had a lot on hand...
Right click the EZ AV icon in your system tray, Select About, unclick the "Show at Startup" box. You can also access from the main program by clicking on Help, About.
You might want to try the CA EZ Armor 1 year trial before buying it. Link
The CA-branded ZoneAlarm firewall is nice. If CA EZ Armor isn't to your liking you can always try out Panda AV here.
YMMV but the Pacific Digital ones I got with serial numbers starting with 43 and 48 ended up both being Liteon LDW-811S drives. I wanted the LDW-851S model.
Thanks OP. Worked just fine at my BB. Pricematch to CC plus $5 from gift card.
I had the pricematch written up out on the floor. I confirmed that the coupon on the gift certificate was good for any video game with another employee. I only put $10 on the gift card to get the $5 coupon then...
Panda Software is offering a free one-year subscription to its Platinum 7 antivirus software to IT professionals. It's a good antivirus product, includes a firewall component and you can't beat the price. Link Panda's web site sells this for $69.95.
The LinkSys KVMs do NOT work with IBM ThinkPad laptops. There's a conflict with the keyboard/mouse pin outs from the ThinkPad. LinkSys says it can be resolved by clipping a pin but that's not a satisfactory option.
If you are going to connect a ThinkPad to a KVM do NOT buy a LinkSys KVM...
Deal is dead - the rebate offer expired 12/31/01. Link to rebate from offer page in initial post - PDF of Rebate form.
DOH! Deal is ALIVE. Updated link in initial post has new link to rebate that's good through 1/5 - New Rebate form.
I stumbled on a 75% off deal on the Hasbro Bio-bugs at one of my local Dilliard's. They normally sell for $40.
Click here or here for more info on the bio-bugs. They "learn" the room, obstacles and fight each other automatically.
At $10 each I got one of each type. You'll want to buy at...
TechTv review on the Samsung SPH-I300
Price is not set but the article says $350 to $500. No details on battery life. It looks like a nice unit with the color display. It doesn't use the "flip-phone" design. The Kyocera's dialing pad folds over the front of the PDA providing some...
You have to call an OfficeMax retail store, confirm availability and confirm the price. It is not an advertised special or close out. I have verified three separate purchases at the $250 price and the $100 gift certificate. (The gift certificate isn't instant, you have to mail in a form.)
OfficeMax is closing out the Kyocera 6035 Palm/Sprint PCS phone at a price of $250. This retails for $399.99. Upon purchase, OfficeMax provides a mail-in form to obtain a $100 gift card for use at any OfficeMax. So if you know you'll spend $100 at OfficeMax in the future your "net" price for...
