I remember using Macrium, but I also remember that I couldn't get the new drive to boot for a while. I was in a hurry and it was late, so I probably ran some random things from the internet that I didn't fully understand. I didn't know that it was possible to reset the max LBA value.

Thanks for helping me work through this. I remember having some trouble getting the partitions boot-able with the dell recovery partition after the original imaging. I started clicking switches until things worked. I must have reset the max LBA on the new drive. I used this tool and it fixed...

Nvidia GT 320

I'd say you should a GT320 to perform about 10% slower than a 8800GS or HD4650 at up to 1280x900 resolution. Not sure what to expect after that, but it is probably a bit under powered to handle that anyway.

Antilles 6990 slide

A read that as: 4GB Ram at 512bit @ 1.2 Ghz 150 Watts per GPU and they probably had to slow the memory down to get there 1920 Stream Processors per GPU 55% more raw compute power than the 5970 We already have plenty of "slide" threads like this. Super Moderator BFG10K.

Rendition Vérité V1000

I have a Verite 2200 card that I picked out of the leftovers of a collapsed dot com company in 2000. The card still works. I pull it out when I need a PCI card to test failing mother boards. Ironically, I used to run voodoo lights on it back in the day.

AMD's Cayman - HD 6900 series info delayed till week of Dec 13th

Isn't that article kind of old? It's like 20 weeks old. Oh wait. Never mind. Parts that were ordered on 7-2 would be arriving on 11-19 if the 20 week lead time is right. But I though DrMosfet's had a shorter lead time for some reason.

The timing & length of the delay rumors is what interests me. The delay rumors came out right after the 580 came out. That makes me think that either 1) AMD is validating the part for new frequencies or some incompatibility and needs an extra couple weeks for validation or 2) the delay rumors...

YA Why do you prefer AMD or NV Thread

I prefer ATI cards because they've all worked at 1680x1050 with my 5m DVI cable (4670, 4850, 5850). I've tried 2 nvidia cards (7600, 9600) and they failed to drive a signal when the resolution went over 1024x768. Maybe the Fermi cards can drive a signal on the long cable, but twice burned...
