Floppy scan on bootup??

Is there a way to disable the floppy scan on bootup?? When I turn on my computer it scans the floppy drive for a boot disk and then boots. Any way to disable this?? I have an ASUS A7V333. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Memory Question....

Thanks for the help guys, I got my rig and will be setting up tonight or tomorrow. 512 MB is plenty for me, thanks again!! Thx for the complements on my rig setup. I learned a lot off these forums.

Thanks for the info Boonesmi!! When you say most people won't see the difference, what people "Would" see the difference, graphic designers?? I'm more into gaming, will it help any more w/ 1 GB? Thanks again,

Also, if possible I would like to hear from you guys....Could you please let me know if this is a wise decision... I'm getting: Asus A7V333 80 Maxtor ATA 133 1 GB 2700 DDR RAM (Maybe 512) GeForce 4 ti4600 Athlon XP 2100 Anything bad w/ these choices?? Thanks again,

Memory Question....

I was planning on getting a new ASUS mobo w/ the new KT333 chipset, I was wondering....I was thinking of getting 1 GB of DDR 2700 RAM. Mostly I just play games and play around in Photoshop. Should I go w/ 1 GB or just stick w/ 512, is there that much of an improvement?? If this is posted in...

Windows XP Boot Disks?

Ok....my friend just told me to disable vsync....this was a big booboo on my part..I had no idea I was supposed to disable vsync...supposedly my FPS will jump way up after disabling this...I'll let you guys know, does everyone agree disabling vsync will help out a lot? TIA

Thanks for all the great ideas fellas, keep em' coming, I'm going to try them all when I get home and let everyone know how I did. BTW, I am in 16 bit, usual suspect......I'll try 3dMark2001 and I have FSAA disabled :(...

Yup I tried all that Adul....it's really stumpin' me as well. I'll try that BIOS update, but I'm thinking I have the latest. I'm at work, so I can't check it right now :(.....Thanks guys, if you think of anything else..PLEASE let me know.

Yes, I have the proper chipset drivers(4in1's minus the AGP, which I d'loaded from AMD on a tip from another thread) I have the Abit GX7 mobo, SB Live, 2-512MB DDR 2100 RAM Sticks, Intel NIC, AMD 1.4. Thats all I have hardware wise, as for the OS, I'm using Windows 98SE. Thanks for your help.

Low FPS on an AMD 1.4......

I have an AMD Thunderbird 1.4 chip w/512 MB of DDR RAM. I also have a Hercules GeForce 3 card. My problem is, when I play games, the FPS seem to be very low compared to others with the same setups. I only get 30FPS in NASCAR 4 at 1600x1200, I haven't tried any Quake or Unreal games yet, but...
