Got mine yesterday. Looks like it is running some flavor of *nix. Don't know which one. The mobo has connections for the mouse and keyboard but the case doesn't allow access to them. Need to mod the case to use them, assuming they were not disabled by the OS. It doesn't have a floppy or a CD...

Now Dead Another Smoking one - Dell OptiPlex Desktop P4-1.6GHz 128MB 20GB CD-ROM NIC $358 shipped

Ordered 04/27 Arrived in So. CA 05/02 Booted up but no video signal. Had to reseat the video card. Bought this sys for my brother in law. Now he's got a faster system than me. I only wish my PowerEdge 500SC was this quiet. :D Now on to the rebate debacle.... :confused:

(Dead) Compaq FS740 17" .25 monitor w/Speakers & Mic for "$49.97 AR at CompUSA

I saw this monitor at BB for $199 but it was an opened box item (didn't see whether they were offering the speakers with it as well). I grabbed one of the compaq monitors at the Redondo Beach, CA CompUSA. They were flying out the door! :)

Win XP Internet Connection lost. Help, please.

Running Win XP Pro on my Dell PowerEdge 500SC. I have lost my internet connection. :( I can ping 127.0.0.1 and ipconfig gives me the DHCP assigned address 192.168.xxx.xxx. Gateway info is also correct. Other computers connected to my DLink router can connect to the internet. They are running...

I loaded Win98 at first and then upgraded to Win XP Pro. Use Rage 128 for video drivers available from ATI's website. HTH ;)

I was trying to install ati all in wonder 128 pci with win2K. No luck. Went to ati and downloaded latest drivers. Still no luck. It would launch the install program and then hang. When I tried to use the drivers provided on the CD it would say I need admin rights on NT (which I do). Anybody...

Lucent (Orinoco) Silver Access Card $49.97

Got the Lucent WaveLan silver that I ordered from OWC. Came in anti-static bag and nothing else. Markings on the back says it's 5v and 16 (bits?). PC24E-H-FC Will test it out this weekend with my Am@zon DI-713P. Any firmware upgrades available? :D

Just got a Orinoco Silver (Lucent/Agere) and Orinoco Gold (Dell Truemobile 1150) but don't have a PCI adapter for my desktops. Which wireless PCI adapter will work with these cards? Will Belkin F5D6020 work with these cards? I don't want to fry my cards!!!:confused:

Got mine yesterday. It had shrink wrap outside but when I opened it, some of the plastic inside was torn indicating that it was opened previously (return/refurb?). I emailed CS at Am@zon and they apologized. Said they will mail me a replacement (free 2-day shipping).:|
