Blurry LCD with VGA connection-any way to avoid?

Look on your monitor for a fine tuning control for the frequency, this can help eliminate some shadows around text and general blurriness that auto-adjust won't catch.

Need Help in Setting Up a SCSI RAID array

Fastest HDD setup (scsi)

The Seagate drive also happens to be about half as loud as an Atlas as well. I have a 2nd gen X-15 in my home machine and its amazing how fast things load and how the drive never bogs down.

cheapest and best DSL router??

Hehe I ahve a Cayman full blown DSL router with internal DSL modem you can have for 50 bucks, not doing me any good on cable :)

intel exreme graphics question... :)

We played RTCW on one at work testing it out and it did ok at 800x600 but the lighting isn't up to par with some of the newer cards. For integrated its not bad though.

SCSI vs ATA disc speed

Yeah much higher fees coupled with 5 years warranties and great reliablilty and x2 the transfer rates, I think i'll stick with my X-15 for awhile :)

Flaky RAM

Should you have to reload XP again, unplug everything thats a dirve excet the CD drive and the hard drive you intend to install it on to help the drive letter madness.

Update!!! Need setup up helpon HD. Cant INSTALL!!!!!

Use the format built into XP's setup and if I were you I would leave the WD unplugged during the setup process or XP may screw you with your drive letters and make your new one D, not to mention it makes it damn near impossible to frag your old drive.

Old school Quick Launch in XP?

Right clik on the taskbar, hover over toolbars and put a check mark on quicklaunch. Right click on taskbasr again and make sure Lock Taskbar isn't checked and adust how wide you want it, then lock it back down.

Recommend me the best 17" LCD please...

I have a NEC MultiSync 1720M and I absolutely love. IMHO it looks better than any of the Viewsonic models we have gotten for customers at work. I notice no real ghosting probles in any applications or games and the viewing angle is awesome.

GF4 dual monitor - CRT and LCD - different refresh rates?

XP pro not installing with GF4 Ti 4200

We had a problem at work where XP was setting the refresh to high for the monitor causing us to have a black screen even though the PC was booting up. Had to swap monitor around to get enough for the bench so we could finish installs up.

Need advice.. win2k login script/bat file for remote folder access/backup

You can put a NET USE command in the logiin script to map a drive to the folder and have it pass along a username and password of your choise for the connection, do a NET USE /? for more info.

What can beat the Samsung 181T 18.1" LCD for under $1000?

Any of the new NEC's look great I have a 17" inch 1720M and it has a black case on it. Image quality blows away any of the others I have used and the are midranged on price.

Added hard drive - invalid system disk error!

Are you running the drives as Master/Slave or on Cable Select? Some of the newer drives I have used will do that when on cable select for some reason. We always have to set them to master with the jumper for them to be seen reliably.

quiet hard drives?

I can vouch for the Seagtate drives, extremely reliable and the quietest drives I have used to date. They are quieter than the Maxtors IMHO.

Running fans at 7 volts?

I want to put an extra fan in my case and was wondering what wirs i need to connect to run it at 7 volts. Its a Thermaltake fan with a 3 pin connector that sounds like a freightrain when its running at 12v. I have a 3-4 pin adapter I can use with this fan. Thanks for any advice.

nView Technology - Two Different Monitors at two different resolutions?

When you open up display properties you you should see a blue square representing the two monitors above the resolution settings. Click on number two and check the box that says extend my windows desktop to this monitor. thats all it takes if you run 2K or XP. And you can set each devices...

Best LCD Monitor

I have an NEC Multisync 1720M and love it. I had a KDS before and the viewing angle on this one is so much better as well as the color. Not to mention its black ;)

Mandrake+Planar=No support?

You should be able to look around at a command prompt for xf86config and run it, then make sure you choose custom monitor settings and enter in the specs for your monitor from the manual. Thats how I installed my NEC 17" LCD. Im sure som guru here can explain it better than I.

A few days ago Media Player started giving errors that it cannot connect to and clips I try to play of the web and aslo IE started popping up the occasional Work Offline box saying that it to could not connect. For IE I can just hit try again and it goes along just fine but media player won't...

Nvidia Nview display problem?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers? Maybe that when it was shutdown unexpectedly your drivers config got screwed. If so reinstalling them should get you back and running.

What should my Bios/Windows settings be?

I could also see letting Windows manage the swap file with that amount of RAM. Shouldn't be much of a performance hit because you might only need to use it occasionally so there won't be much resizing going on.

Geforce4 Ti4200 HELP!!!

Motoamd, If its any consolation im using a 300W Antec and running a 1.7P4, 512MB RDRAM, CD/RW,DVD, 2 Seagate Barracuda IV's, 1 Seagate Cheetah X-15, Geforce 4 Ti4600, and Adaptec 19160 and have yet to have a hiccup with it, nor has the PSU gotten hot enough to even spin the fan full speed.
