Mine is off a 95 Taurus. They come in early 90's Taurus and Ranger. Problem with spade terminal is that they can get loose in an automotive environment. I have this type of fusebox for my low current stuff...

Discussion 2019 Ford Fiesta ST-Line? Are Fords any good nowadays?

Sounds like a terrible finance decision. Yeah, let's roll the 2017 Civic negative equity into a 84 months 2019 Fiesta car loan in the name of saving money. "But I'm selling it myself". Don't kid yourself. If you want to truly save money, you'd be driving an ugly but reliable beater.

OEM Ford part to replaced the 80's Dodge fusible links, $20 from junkyard. OEM automotive grade stuff, ie heat proof, shock proof, dust proof, tested for the rated current, etc.

When I add an aftermarket ECU and fusebox to my car, I use un-insulated butt connectors. Strip, crimp, heat shrink, then wireloop to protect.

CR-Z seats installed in my Insight

When I got my 2000 Insight, I replace the stock seats with RX8 seats since those were better than stock. I got the RX8 seats because they were cheap and available. (two tone seat is stock, and dark seat with triangle hole is RX8 seat) For a while, they were good. But then age got to them...

If you call to make an appointment, then showed up to check out the car, then ask if you can make an offer, then make a firm offer of 10k. That perfectly acceptable. If seller accepted the offer, great. If not, ask if the seller will keep your number and if the car doesn't sell in a few weeks...

There are more than one way to boost the efficiency of an engine, pun intended. In the early 1980, both Volvo and Dodge chose turbocharger to increase their 8 valves engine performance. It wasn't until few year after production both companies start adding 16 valve heads in their engine choices.

I don't even bother with junkyards anymore. My 420A coil cracked due to a fault of the ignition module. Ebay 420A coil was less than $15 shipped to my door which is less than $2 entrance fee + gas + time + part cost + tax + environmental fee + core fee and etc.

Buying a used car HELP

Reconstructed title means the car had an incident serious enough for the insurance to total it. Then car is auction off, bought by someone, rebuilt it, and re-titled it. The issue is, you have on idea what the incident was, could be an accident, could be flooding, could be thief... stay away.

PCH is mostly 35 mph or under packed with tourist that's paying more attention to the view than the road. Acceleration really doesn't matter. Personally, I'd left the wife pick out a car.

Hybrid Battery Failure and Replacement

What I said has nothing to do with "cell phone batteries". Inside each hybrid battery are a bunch of small batteries called "cells". https://greentecauto.com/product-tag/camry-2007-2011 The new "cells" are made in China, and are known to fail around the 3 year mark, at least for the Insight.

I completely abandoned and removed the hybrid battery and installed a close ratio and shorter FD civic hybrid manual transmission in my 1st gen Insight. Cost $550 with parts and a new clutch. Still get over 60mpg on highway and over 50mpg in the city. I understand this is not a route for other...

I made my gas only Insight "fun" to drive.

A stock car's 0-60 Today, I measured my new 0-60 time. My 0-60 now is a slightly faster than a stock car, but a whole lot faster than before the transmission swap!

While I understand and accept the 68hp 1.0L 3 cylinder engine, the 5 speed manual transmission gearing is a joke. To get to 2nd gear at 2000rpm, you must shift at 4000rpm in first gear! A member from Insight Central figured out that 1st gen Honda Civic Hybrid (HCH) manual transmission...

A warning about buying tires, especially buying from BJs

One time, I bought 4 tires online. 3 tire were made 1 year ago, the 4th tire was made 6 years ago. I was mad. Always check asked to check the tire's date BEFORE allow them to be put on your car. Takes you all 1 minute to check the dates before wasting $$$.
