which option to choose?

I'm planning on building/upgrading my gf's current computer. My choices have come down to 2 things: 1) Get a nForce2 motherboard with built in GeForce4 MX graphics and use that or 2) Get a nForce2 mb w/o the built in graphics and use her current Radeon 8500LE 128mb video card...

problems setting up new machine

I am in the process of building a new computer for a friend of mine. I got them an Asus P4B266-C and an Intel 1.6A. Memory is a single stick of 512 muskin, and hard drive is a Maxtor 40 gig. I threw everything into the case and started her up...first thing I noticed was that the 512 megs...

HS Fan adaptor question:

I currently have an SK-6 HS on my Athlon 1.4/Abit KT7A. On the HS I got a Delta black label screaming loud fan. I would like to switch to the adjustable Enermax 80mm fan and was wondering wether I could throw the slim fan adaptor found at crazypc.com on the SK-6 with no modifications or not...

WinTV card application locks machine...grr

I have an older WinTV card produced by Haugpahuge (sp) in my machine. I have just installed the WinTV application (both WinTV2000 and WinTV32). Whenever I try to start either of the programs up, it locks my machine up immediatly. I have a GeForce2 GTS 64 meg card on an Abit BH6 mobo w/ P3...

video crashing

I started with the 23.11 drivers, but then dropped back to 22.81, and then the orginal 21.xx ones...hell, I even tried the old 12.xx ones and the actual driver from ELSA (maker of card). Same problem with all drivers. twist

I did do a clean install...I don't believe in "upgrades" from one OS to another. All my cards are on separate IRQs (Video = 11, NIC = 9, and Sound = 5). PCI 1 is empty, the other cards are in PCI 2 and PCI 4. My AGP aperature size is 64 mb. I believe I actually have both Video Bios and...

questions about Linksys WAP11

blstriker - got the antenna on ebay for right at $50 including shipping. Cushcraft 13.something yagi antenna. ktwebb - on the other end of this link is a 14.something dbi cisco yagi antenna running into an AP in Point to MultiPoint bridging mode. That AP is wired to a university network...

questions about Linksys WAP11

Yes, bigger and better antenna going on the WAP11 for a medium distance (half a mile) wireless bridge. Have a 13.x dbi yagi antenna that has Female N-Type connector on it's pigtail. Couldn't find the connector type for the AP anywhere on the Linksys site or the documentation that came with it...

which temp to trust?!?

I've been using MBM for a bit of time now, and at the moment, it is reading 40c....where as I just downloaded SiSoft Sandra to test the stability of my machine and I noticed that it also tells you the temp of your computer, which it reports as 10 degrees lower than MBM. Which do I trust...
