XP is to buggy and I can't install Win2k Pro. I JUST CAN'T WIN!

Try taking out all non essential hardware before the install. If it gets through that, add them in.

NT4 DNS server problem

Im running NT 4 server and M$ dns server on it. Everytime the computer is restarted, the dns server loses the forwarder settings. I have it set to forward to my ISP dns server but I have to re-enter it every time the computer starts. Is there any way to save this stuff so i dont have to do it...

Plz help with some loaded services in Win2k

Never heard of internat.exe but you could put the mspmspsv.exe service on manual. Id leave the loadqm.exe one alone.

Network Bridge in XP big problem

Upgrade 2k to XP

Would it be wise to upgrade 2k to XP? I want XP on one of my PCs and I really dont want to wipe clean and start from scratch. I would think that it would go alright because 2k and xp are so similar but im not sure. Anyone have good experience upgrading?

How to remove CTRL-ALT-DEL from Win2K Server login?

To anyone who upgraded to XP.

I had XP and now Im running 2k. XP had a slightly faster boot time than 2k does but that was after running bootvis. Other than that, Win2k has been faster and, uses less ram.

Is it worth fixing bad sectors on a harddrive, or should I RMA?

I would RMA it. In my experience, bad sectors lead to more bad sectors...

Password Locking Folders in WinXP

If the visitors are using another user, just set the security on the folder so that only you have access. If they are using your user name, I dont think there is a way to do that.

svchost.exe error message in win2kpro- got a fix?

Im thinking that if the SP only partially installed, it could have changed enough stuff to break it. I would try downloading the network install and trying that. If you got broadband it shouldnt take too long to download. Get it here click SP2 network installation. That way, if your isp craps...

Problems with Win2k Pro Scandisk.

I had that problem too... The only way I could fix it was by reinstalling win2k. It was so annoying nothing I did had any effect on it. It was shutting down correctly, the hard drive was fine, and there was more than enough power.

Win2k question

Ok... I made a shortcut to "%windir%\system32\rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation" and made the Shortcut ket Ctrl+Alt+L. It only seems to work if the shortcut is on the desktop or the start menu.
