here in los angeles (where blockbuster must have a distro) netflix gets returns next day sends out new that day and i get em next day.....
so far with my blockbuster trial it is taking like 3-4 extra days per turnaround....... not exactly competative if ya ask me :(
actually i was all excited by this thread as i have to wade thru a zillion hd hot deals that aren't ever described well in the subject and only deal with non sata drives :(
seriously..... i bookmarked it this afternoon :) :( ah well....
no idea why everyone got so nuts over it...
widesceen is not pointless for pc's... in fact this monitor is awesome for almost anything..... just hit a hotkey and then flip it vertical with a touch of the hand and bang you have like 2 pages worth of every website or word doc visable at all times........
well if you can find these anywhere you can yank out the drive and sell it for at least 100 dollars more.... or better yet use it yourself in a bunch of cameras like the great canon s50 the 4gb drives sell for 400 bucks a pop on their own.....
re the plain brown ups boxes-
"The UPS Packaging Supplies Store Has Closed
Thank You for Your Patronage
We no longer offer corrugated cartons and other packaging supplies for sale at UPS.com. As of February 12, 2004, we are no longer taking orders online or by phone. We appreciate your...
secure connect is alot better.... anyone who has ever thrown a few drives in a case and messed with wires for any amount of time will know the weird insecure feeling those little flimsy sata connectors give..... some drives/cables feel as if a slight bump will knock em out :(
not sure what you mean?
you mean have it launch firefox when i click on the ie links bar with my little icons? that seems nuts..... and no wouldnt really work :) :(
or do you mean something else?
i would use this if it could do one thing....
- this - click here for the thing
unless i am an idiot i can't figure out any way to make a links bar like this with weird icons.....
i would die if i couldnt get to like 25 of my most used websites just by seeing the weird recognizable icon out...
there a bunch of reasons to go for the 3200 over the 5200 :(
for one thing the 3200 prints full bleed and the 5200 doesnt....
also since the 3200 uses the same carts as the epson c62 you can get super high quality as in can't tell the difference replacement cartridges for 5 bucks a pop...
what was the movie tho
are you sure there arent extras or extra stuff at the end?
open the last vob in the set with windvd or something and see what the end really is...
i suppose batches could be different but everyone else i see has the same problem as me so i bet thats unlikely...
anybody still saying this is great media is nuts or deluded :)
it burns fine verifies in nero fine yet at the 70-80% mark it starts breaking up on 4 count em 4 diff players with these disks burnt at different speeds on 2 diff type burners,,,,
the media su*ks......
might be ok if you only use...
well i had one SAY it was burnt at 4x in the sony.... but watched the clock and it did the ussual 27 minutes or so 2x burning and called it 4 :) :(
results the same.. burn fine verified in nero fine and played75% of the way thru on 3 diff standalones then started to break up and die... played...
i dont think its the burner.... tried both the plextor and the sony and they ALL verify the data in nero as having been burnt good and verified good....... alas movie dvds will play in pc players but standalones cant deal with all the errors after about the 75% of the way thru mark and start to...
stay away from these disks :(
tried on both the sony dru500a and the plextor 708.... both with the latest firmware and tried both nero .11 an the new.19 and got simular results with both drives and both neros.....
basically the disks burn fine (2x only unfortunately) but they burn and nero...
it really is about 35 or more per 40gb's
some locals run a bit more per hour but not many..... and not much ussually...
go to avs forums and see how easy it is to add 130 or 260 more hours :)
yea longten i knew it started with an l thats about it :)
burt 2 more and both verified in nero and played fine in my players so who knows......
just wish to heck they burnt with plextors new 708.... if anyone finds a trick to that let me know :) :(
seems ok burnt one.... tested it.... tho some say in other forums that is the dreaded lumatic or somethin disks everyone is tring to unload they are so bad :(
burns fine in the sony dru500 alas at 2x........
wont burn at all in the plextor 708 alas... :( was hoping for 4x there....
best way to do camcorder deals is to get a quote/pricelist from a AUTHORIZED (in this case Sony) RESELLER like http://nycv.com/ you email them at thier website with the camera you want in the subject and you will get a pricelist sent to you....
print that out along with the fact that they are...
snatchface.. with a deal like this one how is replay cheaper than dtivos??
your right about the hdtv thing..... even with the recording of the actual stream and no picture loss.... it is tough to stomach even the perfect dtivo picture on my mitsubishi hdtv :(
i can't imagine that replay would...
the point is i never have time to watch tv really...... but when i do.... i want to have something to watch :) and a vast library to choose from.....
i use the 1 watch / and 2 different channel record alot during the first week of the fall season to suss out shows.... but mainly i use the...
again i've said this in other threads here.... if you are mulling over going replay or dtivo..... you would have to be an idiot to go replay imho.....
dtivos record the actual stream so picture and dolby digital sound if any is identical to the broadcast stream..... no degradation...
well you can do it if you are techie check some tivo forums...
but the deal breaker is its 1gb per hour with dtivos cause they record the actual mpeg stream as opposed to replays that are analog and dont get 1gb per hour by far at PERFECT SIGNAL/PICTURE EXACT STREAM COPY sorta thing dtivos...
you can set dtivos to do commercial skip too.... do some searchin on the net you have to do some stuff with the remote to set it up.... me i never saw the point.... 3 clicks and i'm over them anyways....
have you tried the latest shrink with the DEEP ANAYLYSYS mode? to me its just as good as instant copy.... from the 2 or 3 i have compared.... maybe better in some cases...
likelinus- re apples and oranges and takes alot of work....
the whole point is it DOESNT take alot of work with dvdshrink.... drag and drop stuff from three movies into one new comp and click backup takes 10 seconds.... just try arranging that in any other app with that ease!??
just saw someone saying the latest version od dvdxcopy fixed the series disk issues.... hehehe..... how gullible/uninformed are you?
they always fix a few more of the most famous series.... but the root of the problem and the VAST VAST VAST amount of series disks out there remain totally...
re quality not being as good.... what the heck does that mean i use dvdshrink almost solely to split up dvd9s to dvd5's and do no reencoding...... thus picture sound identical....
dvdxcopy does that but with no absolutely no control over it.... and it simply DOES NOT WORK for alot of disks...
re series disks.... horrifying it works like 10% of the time and thats being generous...
i went over to dvdshrink and never looked back...
total; control over shrinking ratio can shrink extras to almost nothing and still keep menus etc or get rid of em totally and just barely shrink the main...
likelinus-
well i stand corrected..... it is NERO :( weird.... first problem i have ever had with nero...
burnt a few disks in record now and did a verify and tested all the files too.... and they all were perfect after a 4x burn where nero always messed up the last file (tho ya only could...
its a little checkbox in nero you check before or during a burn...
as for nero being the problem,,,, i more than doubt it... i always use the latest version and have yet to have a bad burn ..... gone thru over 600 accu 1x disks at 2x flawlessly...... 90% with nero and they play in all 4 players...
these are nice disks but they are not perfect.......
tho they seem to burn flawlessly at 4x on my sony 500 with the latest firmware..... (nero reports successfull etc and no errors......)
if you do a data verification the last file on the disk always fails (tried 5 diff burns/compilations and...
never understood why anyone would want a replay tv or a standalone tivo in the first place?
directivos are great tho.... you get exact digital stream recording (resulting in an hour a gig on average at PERFECT exact stream picture and 5.1 sound if it has that) and its so hackable its not...
its a nice program and hopefully will get better... but even with a 5.4gb movie you do notice artifacts and crawling flashing pixels (like on satellite tv withg the sharpness and contrast all up too high...)
60 cents a disk now for dvd blanks i cant see suffering with not perfect picture for 60...
