Well seems they fixed the rebate link on the site.

This is how I installed it,
spring loaded screw
metal washer

flat plastic washer
motherboard

at least that is how I think I remember installing it
remember to put the flat metal washer between the spring and heatsink
you don't want little copper...
As with most of the Panaflo I don't think you can monitor these fans. The reason to get the 3 pin tails is that you can connect them to the fan headers on the motherboard that way. And the tails I got were not just a 2 pin to 3 pin adapter, they connect directly to the fan.

I would have to second the vote for the ASUS P3V4X. Just make sure to flash the bios to rev 1006 beta 002. I have had great results using this board. I have my P3 550 running at 826 so thats not to shabby.
Here is my take on the little silver wire inside the acrylic tube you bought. The wire is used to attach one end of the cold cathode tube; you would remove the wire that is presently there i.e. the flexible white one and attach the silver wire to it. Then I would get some heat shrink to seal...
:D Just went down and picked myself up a few sticks, I got two addresses so its going to be fine. Well the stick that I got is Samsung chips on a Samsung board. So what can I say but Great! Thanks for the info. Chip Part # K4H280838C-TCB0 also made in Korea.
:cool: Its just a thought, but perhaps you should try to order one through BestBuy.com and try to get it so you can pickup the item at your nearest store. Would save the trouble in trying to find one on the shelfs. And the site also has the link to the rebate too. You never know it can't hurt.
