Lastest version of SETI Driver?

v1.6.3.5 is the current version. There was a BETA v1.9.?.? (I don't remember the exact version number), but as conjur stated, I haven't worked on it in quite a while and have no idea when I'll be able to get to it. Mike.

To ensure you have the latest version, download from the "United States" link. The mirrors can take a day or so to update and the "Spanish Language" version may take longer. No problem on clipping the usenet post. Mike.

Seti on a dualie, the best way?

On most systems, there is no noticable difference when using the "Set Affinity" checkbox. This checkbox only really helps when you have a 2Mb L2 processor cache (XEONs). Mike.

2 minute WU? Very Strange

Once in a while a WU has so much RFI that the SETI client simply can't process it. When this happens, you get a 2-3 minute WU. You'll still get credit for it, though. Mike Ober.

I seem to have CLI working now

This sounds like you have an old state.sah file in the folder with SETI Driver. Make sure the "Use SETISpy" checkbox is checked and SETI Driver will update the .sah files in it's folder everytime there is a change to one of them. Mike.

Actually, use the existance of the results.sah file to determine if a WU is complete. The SETI Client checks for this file when it starts to see if it needs to connect to Berkeley and return results. Mike.

How do i change the Cache Size once it's been set?

If you're using SETI Driver, make sure it's not transmitting. Then change the Desired Cache Size. You don't have to "Save Config" for a cache size change. Mike Ober.

Shutdown WinME System Giving Error w/ SETI

Conagent is fine, but if you terminate a SETI Task using this method, you won't be able resume processing that WU until you reboot. A better, and documented, method is to use the _DEFAULT.PIF file. You can get this file from the SETI Driver download page in DEFAULT.ZIP. Mike Ober.

Seti running VERY slow after an "Unknown Fatal Error: 1"

Thought on caching - every cache a WU goes through delays its processing. Remember, Berkeley would really like to get WUs back within a week, so you need to take this into consideration when you set your cache sizes. Mike.

Don't be surprised to see your progress bar jump when you switch from 2 to 1 on the Maximum processes. If the older WU is in the second slot, it will be the one that SETI Driver terminates anyway. It will pick back up where it left off when the other WU completes. Mike.
