Thoroughbred - drop in upgrade?

Which HS/F for a AMD 1800+

I have to second the opinion of the Cooler Master HHC-001. It is currently running 15 degrees C over room temperature on my Athlon 1.4 @ 1.6 Ghz. (This is under full load with SETI while I surf). Just make sure that you have a good 3 -4 CM of clearance b/w the left side of your socket and...

T'Bred Out in June?

I think by that time the Hammer series of processors will only be a few short months away. I would hold out unless you already have an Athlon DDR motherboard. The Hammers are supposed to be approximately 30% faster than Athlon XP in a 32 bit environment on a clock per clock basis.

Is my CPU too HOT?

I just built my Athlon 1.4 Ghz and Soyo Dragon Mobo system with a GF3 and 512 MB of DDR. My CPU temp is 57 and ambient temp is 36 (for the case). Both are in celcius. Am I frying my Processor? This is under heavy load (Genome@home running). Thanks, I appreciate your input. Also, If...
