Im just going by my cards, PowerColor 9700 Pro and my old PowerColor 8500, both were what were advertised and perform like champs :)

If your running the cat 3.4's you may not want to try these? http://www.omegacorner.com/ati.htm (built in 9800 mod) Im using them and really like the performance increase in my games.

Your right the soft mod I was refering to is a hack that lets you use an optimized driver path that was originally written for the 9800. But some say the Cat 3.4's did the same thing.

Power Color branded Radeons, any good?

If it has the Infineon 3.3 RAM, its rated at 333MHZ, I have it on my PowerColor 9700 Pro and can only push my card to 360/325 without artifacts. The 2.5 is rated at 400 MHz but I think its only on the sapphire, hercules and built by cards?

Best 8500 drivers

Have you tried the Omega/Plutoniums?? Omega ATI driver page If your card is a "powered by ATI" the manufactuer of the card should have their own drivers, my PowerColor Radeon 8500 really has a problem with ATI support drivers. I had to use PowerColors, which perform really well :)

Anyone else have issues with the latest ATI Radeon drivers?

Is it a "built by ATI" or "powered by ATI" I tried the catalyst drivers in my Powercolor Evil Master II Radeon 8500, boy did my video really go whacky! I then found Powercolor has its own list of new drivers, put them in and all is well :)

Poll: What is the maximum amount of money you would spend on a video card?

I stay behind, I just got my Radeon 8500 275/275 for under a hundred bucks NEW! I am not spending 300 or 400 bucks on a card that in six months will be half price or less, I do not have to have it today ;)
