it will boot of cd to install or fix. it has to be selected from the startup disck c.p. when runing the os and restarted or hold down c at startup or hold down option and select it at startup.
I was at B.B. saw this, easy to open box looks exactly like a lite-on (it also had easy to open box) except it is labeled Norcent, exactly same specs except for not dual format. Anybody get one of these is it a Lite-On? Does it do DVD-R? Not hot but good deal $99 no rebates at a B&M and does 40X...
Biostar M7NCG, but dual channel is hardly worth the trouble. see this -http://www.amdmb.com/article-display.php?ArticleID=244
at best its a 5% performance increase because of the FSB bottleneck, but it does immensly help out board with the built in graphics.
couldn't you use old school 10B2 coaxial for the long run just dig a trench its tough stuff? be cheap spec is around 590 ft for a then you might need two computers at each end with 2 nics to transfer from 10/100 to 10B2 cards and cable would be cheap.
Your ram does not have to equal the FSB in order for something to "Work" if a board can run a 166FSB it is likely capable of running this processor without changing multipliers.
suprised no one mentioned SCSI rules for RAID mucho faster than IDE, 6 years ago I had 4 drive RAID that would hit almost 20MB/sec. 4 1G 7200rmp baracudas. (i bet it would have gone faster if I had a UW scsi card. still have 10,000 18.2G western digital makes wana get a few more and raid em...
biostar mc7cd pro 80$ good overclocker rated for 400mhz fsb (no firewire or nvidia sound). check www.nforcershq.com for info. I have a 1700XP @1937mhz with 1.25G ram and I seems much faster than a 2.4 P4 1G at work. I still prefer using a dual 1.25 mac. if you can wait a couple months the new...
athlons usually out perform P4's in photoshop, lots of ram will speed it up more than memory bandwidth. poke around a little you will find some benchmarks. IMHP best bet cost wise would be some dual channel board with a barton 2500 ($87)(usually overclock to xp3000-3200 speeds)and 2 512's and a...
