NF7-S Can't install Windows

When windows install first launches, it will invite you to press F6 if you want to install SCSI drivers. When it does, press F6 a bunch of times. It will act as if it is ignoring your presses, and continue loading files, but eventually it will ask if you want to load an additional SCSI driver...

Soltek SL-75FRN-L nForce2 M/B has just hit the www > $100

Stripped down how? These aren't IGP boards, if that's what you mean. There are two versions, SL-75FRN-L ($92 at Atacom) and SL-FRN-RL ($114). Both are cheaper than comparably equipped boards from other mfrs. I've always had good luck with Soltek boards. Soltek Product Info.

Need a mobo for a xp 1600/radeon/etc

There are a lot of good, cheap boards out there. My current choice would be the A-Open AK75, $63 from Newegg. Setup is particularly troublefree, and the board runs solid and crashfree.

Good mobo/processor combo for under $150?

There's a lot of good advice above. I'd put in a plug for the A-Open AK75, an SiS 745 board that's $63 at Newegg. DDR only, but IMO it's the best SiS board out there now (except maybe the AK75 Pro, which nobody seems to have). Solid, better quality control than most, and decent onboard sound...

Best Athlon mobo for $125 or under

IMO, the best bang for the buck at the low end is the A-Open AK75. It uses the SiS 645 chipset, is rock solid and stable, an easy, no brain install, and cheap ($63 at newegg). The onboard sound is decent--much better than C-Media. It seems much better built thn the other SiS boards I've seen...

wireless router choices and questions

I just got the D-Link "Air Plus" DI 614+ wireless router, with two pc's connected using DWL 520+ wireless PCI adapters. It now works well, and was a breeze to set up the router and *one* of the computers. Setting up the other computer's adapter was hell, which was a puzzlement, since the two...
