I didn't use any thermal grease; never needed to. The fan had been making some weird noises the past week so I guess it was just going. I don't think the mobo is shot since it does get temporary power if only for a second. I just need a new cpu and fan I think.
Ok here's my problem. I turn on my computer, leave the room for a min. come back and I don't hear the fan making noise and see a little smoke so I quickly turn off the computer. I took off the fan to look at the cpu and it's a little dark on one of the corners; I have a duron. I get a...
I should have been a bit clearer. There are a few exceptions like HL that do need big update files because there are legitimate updates. But in the realm of MMORPG games, there are constant large "updates" that are needed to make the games playable; it's just sad. Yes there are console...
<< Steeven:
Online games release 50MB patches because they're adding monthly content to develop a continuing story line, its not all bugfixes and patches!!! Console-based MMPORGs will still have monthly updates! >>

<< uncJIGGA - I'm sure you are aware that console games also fail to meet their deadlines and aren't out when expected... >>
That's because they have to make sure their games work because they can't release a game that doesn't work and gradually release patches for it so it will work. On...
I took small clips from different video game songs; see if you can guess what games they're from. They're not too difficult.

And more and more protections are being brought out. NSYNC is the latest guinea pig being used to "test" out these new protections:
from cdrinfo
<< The music industry is now testing different copy protection systems on mass market chart CDs, with copies of NSync's Celebrity on the Zomba...
This protection crap is getting rediculous. All it's doing is keeping legit buyers from making mixes of their favorite songs from cd's they own. The piraters will always crack new protections quickly.

It's a program that cold fusion uses. It's not a virus.
<< Update your virus definition and do a full system scan?! >>
Just found out that ntconsolejave.e is a cold fusion file. Trying to look for a fix for this.
