The BSA would then figure out a way to go after people selling remarked CPUs
AMD would then have enough money to come out with stuff on a more timely basis
Intel might play catch-up a little more often
As long as MS only provided funding, I would be all for it.
rgreen83, since when was PC World a reliable source for information?
And yes, justly, if he could put it together(i'm not sure about that), a DIY system would be a much better deal. Pricewatch is your friend.

Do we really think this guy should build his own? His signature says, "Man I hate computers" and he bought an emachine...
No offense dude, but you should get a dell.
"Thank you for your interest in the XP Desktop Mobility Quiz. Due to overwhelming customer interest we have reached maximum capacity. Please come back and take the quiz at a later time."
those damn M$ assholes could've told me that before I wasted 10 minutes on the damn thing :(
just go to your local walmart and have them do what is called an MTR. they can have any walmart in your district send one to your store in a few days. if anyone tells you otherwise they are lazy, misinformed, or just plain mean. go up to the customer service desk and look at all those posters...
this deal took care of my dad's christmas!
got a 56k modem for my dads visor for $5, a case for the visor for $3, a GPS module for $40, a targus folding fullsize qwerty keyboard for $20, and a 8MB backup module for $2.50.
fsking awesome
I have two of these. At $67 shipped I consider it a steal. Quality P4 PSU & includes 2 fans with room for 4 more! The contemporary design appeals to the office user, while the deep metallic blue bezel isn't exactly boring for the home user.
I have ordered about 20 refurb mobos from newegg in the past, and most of the time I was taken care of if there wads a problem. Not lately though. I ordered a Shuttle AK35GT2 and one of the voltage regulators by the power socket had blown. It came that way, I didn't dare even stick my CPU in...
Newegg isn't that much better anymore. I ordered a motherbard from them last week that was really fsked up. I mean one of the voltage regulators was blown when I got it! I requested a RMA and even though they gave me the option to get a replacement, they gave me a damn refund. So, I'm out $8...
gameVE delivered on time, and this chip hit 1743 at default voltage! runs stable at 1600 tho
by the way, mine came in a folded piece of foam and a rubber band! but hey, it works!
Here's what they sent me:
What pisses me off is that their site says that you can remove options that you didn't intent to select by sending an email to them(and I did). Nowhere did it say "unless we fsck up and don't want to."

Get this, the phucktards sent me an email today saying that they'll go ahead and honor the typo price! But when I looked at the order form, the bastards had added the $24.95 'heavy-duty' heatsink and shim, bringing the total right back where it was. Down at the bottom they said that any extra...
A perchase for $86.81 has been 'approved' on my card. Prolly tomorrow it will either be changed to $58.99, or BZBOYZ.com will become BZGIRLZ.com. We'll see.
I'm gonna go ahead and order one... who's with me?
EDIT: OK, I just ordered! They had TWO places to put comments/instructions, so I mentioned pricewatch in both.
NOTE: Right under the processor listing they have a bunch of crap that they want you to get with the order. Make sure you enter...
I've always thought Advent was a manufacturer of high-end consumer audio equipment, but this is the first television I've seen from them.
Edit: Anyone know if a VGA to Component adapter exists?
I've never had any luck with GQ CD-Rs or RWs. They don't work well with my Lite-On CD-RW as most crappy media wont. And the last time I got ahold of some GQ CD-Rs, they had bubbles under the lable that you could see on both sides of the disc...
Lite-On is good if you plan on buying top-quality media. It's recording quality is very poor on any brand disc made by CMC Magnetics. That includes Imation, Phillips, Pioneer, and many other noname brands. However, if all you use are Yudens or TDK branded Ritek, you shouldn't have any problems.
My rebate status at staplesrebates.com still says pending....

Again: The 11.99 ones that have been linked to in the beginning of the thread ARE indeed out of stock. However, there are still some 12.99 ones left...
