Anyone waiting on Windows 7 phones?

The customizability is the one thing that kept me going with the HD2. I hate the fact I can't go into an app market and find some cheap .99 game. And the lagging issue with Sense sms is driving me bonker. Still love my phone though.

The Android invasion continues with LG's Optimus

If you need to go the route of personal attack, I can do that do. Are you faacking stupid ?? Look at the topic at hand. We're talking about smartphones. LG smartphones don't sell well. LG is great at selling phones to the mass like the Env, Chocolate and flip phones. Go ahead and name me...

And Google kills the Google branded phone...

I love how some of you are spinning it into a "BUT Android was a success". Noone argue that fact. From the 4th post of this thread, I simply said the Nexus One was a marketing disaster. Can you argue that it wasn't a marketing disater ??

And Google kills the Google branded phone...

Err....where did I say Android was a failure ?? I said the way Google marketed the N1 was a failure. Did you forget that HTC makes the N1 ? And they produced 2 more phones that was almost idential in the Desire and Incredible. Yeah, I'm pretty sure Google put alot of R&D effort in producing...

And Google kills the Google branded phone...

Saying the N1 was insurance for Android is quite a bit a stretch. The N1 was release in Jan 2010. http://androidandme.com/2009/08/news/android-closing-in-on-blackberry-taking-share-from-iphone/ Look at that article above dated Aug 31 2009. Android was a close 3rd in the US basically with 1...

The Android invasion continues with LG's Optimus

Actually the comparison isn't silly at all. LG took what was the best processor at the time, the snapdragon, put it in a boring phone and it didn't sell. Where HTC took a powerful processor and put it into compelling phones that sold like hotcakes. LG phones are unimaginative and boring.

The Android invasion continues with LG's Optimus

Theres no point in argueing with people if something is ugly or not. If you think they look fine, be it. Theres a reason why LG phones don't sell well. Boring.

Update: Bought it. Played with a Droid X today. Decision time.

For some reason, the design of the HD2 kind of ruin it for me with other phones. The Droid X has the best specs right now but the big bezel at the bottom and the hump just rub me the wrong way. Most people don't care but it absolutely drives me nuts.

The Android invasion continues with LG's Optimus

The HD2 had a big defeciency called Winmo 6.5 too but it sold like hotcakes cause it was such a gorgeous phone. Having a restrictive screen is part of the design. As I was saying before, aesthetic and design has everything to do with a phone and LG really suck at it.

And Google kills the Google branded phone...

We actually do know how much these smartphones cost. Theres a site that often tear down the phones to calculate the parts. Most all of the popular phones are under $200 for parts. The Nexus One was ~$174.(just for parts of course) http://phandroid.com/2010/01/10/nexus-one-parts-cost-174-15/...

The Android invasion continues with LG's Optimus

Thats great, I'm pretty sure LG loves comsumers like you. Thats why when HTC released smartphones with the Snapdragon proccessors for T-mobile(HD2), Verizon(Incredible), and Sprint(EVO), they all sold out. And LG release its Snapdragon for ATT, the Expo, that phone sunk into oblivion...

The Android invasion continues with LG's Optimus

Sorry, but LG makes some of the ugliest looking phones. Those phones look big, clunky with alot of bezels. For a company that as big as LG and been in the cell phone business as long as they have, they really do suck at making phones. I can't remembered tha last time I've seen a LG phone and...

And Google kills the Google branded phone...

I totally agree with you there. When Google announce the N1, rumors were going around that they would make it CHEAP(like around $300) unsubsidized so everyone will get one. When is was finally announced at $529, I was like WTF are they doing ?? We all thought Google was going to do something...

And Google kills the Google branded phone...

I get what the arguement is but Android was gaining market share rapidly with or without the Nexus One. Motorola, HTC, LG and Samsung were all making multiple Android phones and the Droids were the hottest phone during Christmas all before the N1 was release. Had Google told HTC to go ahead...

Anyone waiting on Windows 7 phones?

I'm eager to see what Windows phone 7 brings to the table. By Christmas, we should see what everyone is offering and hopefully HP can show us some WebOS devices too. This is why I think I'm going to hang on to my HD2 until then. I'm still going to get other phones to play with(mainly the...

Android invasion! Galaxy S variants coming to T-Mo, Sprint, VZW, ATT, and US Cellular

Its getting to a point where you only hear yourself talk. Dude, do a research and find whats the tinnest point and shoot camera available. Thinnest cameras with internal optical zooms like the Sony TX5 are still 18mm thick. Thinnest cameras with external optical zooms are still over 20mm+...

Android invasion! Galaxy S variants coming to T-Mo, Sprint, VZW, ATT, and US Cellular

Sure they can make the camera much better but do you want your cell phone to be as FAT as the thinnest camera available right now ?? Think about it for a second...whats the thinnest point and shoot camera out right now ?? Probably twice as thick as a HD2. When you have to cram so much into a...

RUMOR: HTC HD3: Windows Phone 7 Mega-Phone....Start drooling..

Theres alot of things that gives it away. The dimension itself is smaller than the HD2 but yet has a bigger screen ?? The HD2 is pretty much all screen already. Sure you can stretch it longer but theres no room to make it wider without making the dimension wider. Its OK to drool though. This...

Are you becoming a mobile phone junkie ??

Or are you already one ?? I'm definately becoming a phone junkie. Back 5-10 yrs ago when I was a compuetr junkie buying parts to upgrade every few months although there was no need for it. Now I feel like I need to get the latest and greatest phone even though I have a nice one now(HD2). I'm...

Well, I have a HD2 with window mobile so that should tell you my thoughts on the OS. If I can deal with an acient, non-supported OS like window mobile, Windows 7 will be many times better.

Of course there are horrile compared to regular camera but its a must for me. Plenty of time I'm in a bar/club and I want to take a picture and pictures w/ flash is a whole lot better than NO flash. Flash is a requirement for me. At least I can see what the picture look like at night. There...

Why are people still buying the 3gs for $300+ on craigslist?

What does all of that ranting have to do with what you said earlier in the thread ?? I quote "1G's still can easily fetch $250 if you don't mind waiting a week or so to sell it." $200 does not equal $250.

I was just thinking why in the hell did Samsung put a flash on Verizaon and Sprint version and not ATT and T-mobile ?? Especially when the ATT, Verizon and t-mobile version are all on the same build. Stupidity ??

And Google kills the Google branded phone...

That wasn't biggest the problem. They did subsidized with T-mobile for $179. The biggest problem was trying to sell the phone sight unseen. And people on family plan couldn't get it subsidized.

Why are people still buying the 3gs for $300+ on craigslist?

You're way out of the loop. Noone is buying 2g phones for anything close to $250 now that the iphone 4 is out. Just a quick look on craigslist in Orlando, I see many 3G going for under $200.
  32. C

Why are people still buying the 3gs for $300+ on craigslist?

First, just beacuse you them listed for $300+ doesn't mean they are selling for that much. Its not like Ebay where you can see the final selling price. Having said that, iphones are hot selling items if you priced them right. As someone mentioned already, the oversea market for used iphones...

LOL. I think he thought we're talking about Touchwiz or something. I agree though. The lastest Nokia mystery phone is a slider that has the 4" screen. It looks nice and pretty thin for a slider but then you see the OS and 640x360 resolution and you say what ???? 800x480 is the minimum...

Android Gingerbread - Under 1Ghz devices need not apply

I think I will hold on to my HD2 until the new line of Gingerbread line of phones are out. 1280x760 resolution on a 4"inch screen. Talk about pixel density. I think 4" is the sweet spot for one hand operation.

iPhone vs EVO 4G. Funniest video ever.....

I had the same thought as you did but the HD2 is better. Holding both in your hamds, the HD2 just feels better. 2mm might not be much but the HD2 do feel thinner. I don't like the capacitive buttons on the front vs physical buttons for the HD2. Plus you don't have to reach to the top for the...

Your best 3 top designed looking phones.......

Please try to leave OS out of this. Aesthetically, functionality, material used, etc...should all be factored in. 1) HD2. I still think its by far the best looking phone. The 4.3" screen is a big factor with very little bezel. Very little wasted space. Nice and thin. Not plastically...
