need serious help with Win2k / mandrake 8.1 duelboot

You should have placed LILO on a floppy and when you wanted to boot Linux simply pushed the diskette into its drive. That way if you decided not to continue playing with Linux you could just remove the partitions and throw the floppy away and not be concerned with altering the 2000 MBR. But...

XP Installation Blocked--Video Card and Mobo Incompatible

It could be that for known hardware the resources they want overlap or are identical. Of course, I am not sure how verbose the 2K kernal handles resouces when compared to Win9x. I only know that I've never had a problem with 2K or XP. Do you have another veideo card available?

make sure you create CD from an image file and not simply burn the ISO to a CD, hehe.

Enlarging a Partition on a IBM 75GXP- EDIT SOLVED

First, what version of W2K are you running? If it's Pro then there isn't anything I could suggest. With W2K Server there are options. Is there a lot of data on the 'drive'? BTW, why are you calling partitions 'drive'[s]? Is it because you are thinking of Logical Drives on an Extended Partition...

CD Burner on 2K Server

Hmmm, I'm running a Sony 12X burner under W2KS. It was recognized by the operating system and I chose to use Adaptec's s/w to drive the unit. I've burned about 10 CDs with no problems.

I guess I could be 'anyone', but son you will need to provide a lot more information than you already have given! LILO is a Linux bootloader, but you only mention to have Win2k running, which is hung off the primary channel of what controller? You then mention the CDROM is on the secondary...

Time to play find the abit (rabbit)

Well, I would not expect anything less. Abit is sold in OEM channels and is OEM regardless of who sells it. It is not a retail product and does not come with an Abit warranty. Now, it should come with some sort of vendor warranty, but that can be as different as night is to day when talking vendors.

MCS, just give it another 3-4 weeks and HP will start mass shipments of their DVD-R/W rewritable DVD drive that is caddyless and compatible with traditional DVD players.

Disc mirroring

I really surprised that someone has come out with a software app that would provide mirroring via software. Although 2000 Pro does not support mirroring, server does. I've used it for mirroring, and also for striping drives.
