I've been using blinx.net for a few months-- $1/mo for 200MB space, no ads. Put that together with godaddy.com for a domain name ($8/yr), and it costs a whopping $20/year for your own domain name, a huge amount of web space, and no ads!
I used Acronis 6 to do a successful complete partition backup&restore a couple weeks ago. It has a strange bug when typing in the network address for a network restore-- you have to click the mouse a couple times before *every* letter you type.
richd111, when did you buy this and what city are you in? My local OM (Mountain View CA) has the CDRW (#20204093) for $130 - 40 MIR and the scanner (#20077006) for $80 - 30 MIR (no $30 IR).
Edit: Corrected typo. OfficeMax is the store I checked.
Any idea whether these orders can be placed online for the same prices?
Also, I'm guessing the CD-RW is an enclosure case around an internal CD-RW drive. If so, then you could swap out a faster CD drive, or even a 3.5-inch hard drive (if you don't mind the loose fit).
Has anyone besides me had trouble with incoming calls not ringing the digital TracFones?
I sat in a parking lot by the freeway and did a test-- only 10 of 21 incoming calls rang the phone. The phone was showing 3 of 4 bars of signal strength. Outgoing calls are fine. I'm in the middle of the...
From 6/25 memo to RadioShack Store Managers (they keep these memos on a clipboard underneath the register):
"Thursday, June 27th, through Sunday, June 30th, your notebook customers can get a Compaq 723RSH Notebook for only $799.99 after mail-in rebates. PLUS, through July 28th, customers will...
Anyone know what the "RSH" part of "723RSH" means? Is it a Radio Shack-specific model? I couldn't find anything about this on Amazon, MySimon, or Compaq. And if it's Radio Shack-specific, what non-retailer-specific model is it most comparable to?
Edit: To answer my own question, Compaq...
TracFone is replacing their "Plus3" card, which gives you 100 minutes over one year, with a "1-year" card, which gives you 150 minutes over one year. If you buy the 1-year card here for $95, you get a free refurbished Nokia 5165 (TDMA + analog) or 5180 (CDMA + analog), depending on your zip...
Phatty106, I just called Verizon CS and the person I spoke to knew about the $1/month deal, but said that it ended a few months ago. Now it's a minimum of $15/month.
Trancell.com offers free information services using short (SMS-sized) emails. For example, if you send a blank email from your cell phone to help@trancell.com, you'll get a list of Trancell's available commands. Here are some more examples:
- An email to dictionary@trancell.com or...
If you want a cell phone for emergency use, there are a couple ultra-cheap options:
1) Get Alltel (800-ALLTEL1) GO Prepaid service. The coverage areas are limited, but the price is awesome: as low as 35 CENTS per month! Here are the details: activation is $35, and you have to also put a $20...
I called Cingular, and they might be a better deal than ecallplus for people who don't need roaming. On Cingular's nights&weekends plan, it's 10 cents/minute 9p-7a and on weekends, and 35 cents/minute other times. So, you can spend $80/year with Cingular and get up to 800 minutes or $80/year...
TracFone is selling refurbished Nokia 252 and 918 phones here for $30 with a $30 rebate, with free shipping. (Note: The red rebate form included in the box does NOT exclude refurbished phones from getting the rebate, unlike the green rebate form that's included with new TracFones.) To get the...
The offer doesn't say you have to be a college student. Like lightiv pointed out, "Recommended Audience" and "Every event attendee will receive ..."
Put the two statements together and you have "anyone can go and collect free stuff".
I called the Nokia rebate center (888-458-4239, talked to Katrina) and got the same story as antmanbee: a printed out email receipt is fine for rebate purposes, and phoneshark is an authorized dealer. (Katrina talked to her coworkers to confirm this-- they had seen the phoneshark name, and...
BTW, according to ecallplus CS, when you switch to them, you just need to call AT&T and have the phone number disconnected (separate from the automatic deactivation), and buy one of ecallplus' airtime cards. An ecallplus starter kit is NOT needed. Also, ecallplus does NOT intend to shorten the...
Awesome deal! Only thing is, getting the rebate could be tricky if you plan to switch to ecallplus without first purchasing additional Free2Go airtime. The rebate form says the phone "must remain on service for at least 30 days following activation and must be on AT&T Wireless service at the...
I just save the delivery confirmation GIF at the same time I print it out, so that's independent (post office) confirmation of the _complete address_, not just the zip code, that the package was delivered to. End-to-end tracking shouldn't be needed, since the point is to prove that the package...
Did anyone actually get this stuff? My order got cancelled (a "slight problem"):
----------------
Hello;
I am contacting you regarding the order you placed online with Dell.
There is a slight problem with one of the parts on it and I am unable to
place the order without speaking to you. If...
I just replaced my Astra 3400 because of Umax's nonexistant support. After installing it on W2K, my Canon printer drivers were trashed such that I had to reformat my hard drive and reinstall everything to get the printer working again. The worst part was, the only Umax "support" was a useless...

This isn't as good as Amex Blue, but it is cheaper than ZDNet Rewards (covered in another thread):
1) Rebates are handled in whichever way will result in a lower claim amount. If the original price involved a rebate, their calculation assumes you've received it. On the other hand, if the...
