Question about K7S5A

I have a K7S5A motherboard with a Athlon 850 CPU and i'm planing to upgrade to Athlon XP 1600+, so i'm wondering if it will work or will i have to flash bios? I read somewhere that it supports AthlonXP processors but if not flashed it doesn't use SSE instructions. Any help is appreciated. Zvekan

I'll try that too. This ripping problem gets stranger and stranger. Now it will rip every track expcept the first one where it says the aspi no responding stuff. Zvekan

One more thing. If i select cd copy in nero it copies audio CD-s with no problem. Zvekan

Same thing with Cdex. It ripps the track all the way to 100 % and than it hangs. I'll try update my ASPI drivers, but don't know for sure how. I downloaded ASPI32.exe from Adaptec and it wont install as i don't have any adaptec hardware. Zvekan

I'll try with cd ripper that you suggested. Nero is 5.5.3.5 version. I'm almost certain that no new IDE drivers were installed as other people that use this computer don't know much about them. Strange thing is that ripping process goes extremely well all the way to the end and than programs...

My comp (Athlon 850 MHz, ECS K75SA, 512 MB DDR SDRAM, Toshiba SD-M1502, Win98) used to rip audio without problems, but after 2 or 3 weeks since last ripping I tried to rip a CD today and it didn?t work. I tried with AudioCatalyst 2.0 and Nero and the ripping process went fine till the end of...

KT266A or SiS735?

One short question: Is it worth waiting for KT266A or should I get SiS735 based MB. I?m not planning to overclock and stability is of great importance. What is expected cost of KT266A based MB? Zvekan
