more visible items in XP quick launch bar?

If i add more than 3 items in the quick launch pad not all are visible at the same time. Is there a way I can have 4-5 items showing there?

Router Temperature.

Yesterday I bought a dsl router (my first one). The US Robotics 8000A (8000-02). The case of the router is black metallic and it seems that it runs VERY hot. I haven't mesured it exactly, but its hard to touch it for more than some seconds(but not imposible, you can't get a burn or anything.)...

clicknext, how much ram did you have on that 200MHz PC? I am looking at knoppix now, seems interesting. So i can just put the CD in the tray and run Linux right away without any needs for partitions etc?

Ok, thanks. I now have a software firewall (Norton 2003), and sometimes I need to adjust it, or turn it off entirely. Will the routers firewall be as flexible?

XP internet conection sharing problems

I am able to browse the net and MSN messenger connects without any problems. But ICQ and Babylon can not connect to their servers. The firewalls are disabled on both computers. I tried to change the connection settings of ICQ but nothing worked. Is there anything else I might be doing wrong?

Asus A7V333 - CD-RW on RAID IDE Connector

My HD is on the Promise 1 IDE conector and CD-RW and DVD on the Primary and Secondary IDE conector. I tried to disable the RAID ,to avoid that 30 sec delay, with the jumper but when i did this the HD was not recognized and my computer couldn't boot.

Its too big to curry it on the plane with me :( Otherwise i would have done that for sure. How about the insurance of USPS? If i insure it and it gets damage they will give me the money in Europe? Or they will give me a lot of trouble?

The thing is that i can not take it inside its own box. I have to put it in a luggage along with clothes. This is because I am allowed only 2 check in only 2 bags. But its a hard plastic bag, so maybe it will still be ok.

Yeah , FedEx is better, but a lot more expensive, USPS is less than $100, FedEx is $200 ... I am taking a computer with me, but i feel that the LCD is more sensitive than the computer and I am a bit afraid to take it with me. I know people at airports don't always handle luggage very carefully...

Soyo Dragon+ or Epox 8hka+

Here you can find comparison among all KT333 motherboards. It seems that the Gigabyte came first, but the Epox and Asus were also high. The soyo didn't perform as good, but has the best features by far.

LCD Monitor Questions

You should look for high contrast (350+) and if posible go to the store and check the monitor very carefully before buying because many of them have bad/stuck pixels. To check for bad pixels use black backround first, and then a light background. Unfortunatly at most stores you can't really see...
