Can I do this?

just because something is new does not mean its better. There is no actual need for you to switch. With wireless youll get an average of 750KBYTES transfer with ethernet youll get average of 8MBYTES. big @ss difference. dont scr@w up your parents network.

HomePNA + Ethernet

switch over to ethernet. its a more stable standerd. Its cheap. and you get more bandwith. 11 mbit is shamefull for a home lan these days.

if i were you id go with lucent. orinoco card are great even has great support for linux and the range are nice too.

Cabletron MicroMMAC 24E?? Confused

A hub is a hub.the management capabity is just a way for you to connect to the hub or what ever the hell to configure it. For example i can login with telnet or http to my router to configure it. to the best of my knowledge a switch and a hub is a repeater.

Slow network speeds

10 megabits or mega bytes. if its megebits then your screwed. 100megabits / 8 = 12.5MEGABYTES so if your getting 10 MEGABYTES thats very good.

Need some help choosing a $100-$200 inkjet printer.

I just bought a canon s450 for text printing and color and its kicking reall ***. THe main reason i bought it is because the ink is very cheap .I print alot and its very good quality too adn the speed is ok too. CANON S450 all the way bro!

Ok well i was in a irc room.And out of no where this guy tells me my http://skeletal29.homelinux.net and in the mirc info all he can get is ip .... I remember once i was scanning a isp and i got a list of all the sites they hosted...i dont remember how this was done... can some one tell...

ohh ok i get you know... add the 10/100 nic to one of your system that has wireless and configure networking to allow users to connect and share internet.... so your gonna be like a "route" and thats it.

i dont understand what the F**(&*( your trying to do but i suggestyou get a router/wireless ap combo...**some options are not there but it will work good for you because it can be wireless or wired.!

thanks guys.....i just started to use redhat as a web,ftp, adn telnet (soon changin to sshd) server and its gr8 but i am not totally able to run everything from command line(well i dont know exactly wher all the config files are and stuff the x makes it much more easier)
