I decided on a GF4 Ti4200. I found a good one for a good price, but I can't find any information on the card anywhere. Anyone ever heard of a GF4 Ti4200 64MB by MSI with model number MS-8879-040? It's not even listed on the MSI discontinued/archived pages...
Would someone mind reviewing the following benchmarks and tell me what they think (they're near the bottom, you have to scroll past a lot of video card pictures...)?

They benchmarked 63 video cards on an Asus P2B. I had decided on a...
I'm looking for recommendations for a video card upgrade. My budget is ~$100, so let me tell you basically what type of performance I'm looking for and what I am currently considering.
Current system:
Asus P2B w/ Celeron 1Ghz (slocket)
768MB RAM
Viper V550 (TNT)
I enjoy games, but would not...
I purchased Grim Fandango a couple of years ago when it hit the bargain bin. Embarrassingly enough, I have never played the game since I have had it. I decided I wanted to finally install it the other day and this is what I found:
Disc B - Front
Disc B - Back
I checked the files and...
Someone on another board has recommended the Mad Dog Raptor Ti4200 for the same price ($80 after $60 in rebates). This card would definitely be overkill for my system (Asus P2B r1.10 w/ Celeron 1Ghz and 768MB RAM). Is it worth it to 'future-proof' a little and run this card in my current rig...
I can get both cards for the same price (~$85). Which one do you guys recommend and why? Anything better than these would be overkill...I'm upgrading a Asus P2B w/ 1Ghz Celeron and 768MB PC100 RAM. Please post your reason for choosing one over the other. Otherwise, I'll have to assume you are...
I've been doing some research on Google Groups about GF3/GF4 or Radeon and P2B combos. Most of the messages mention slower computers not being able to keep up with the newest cards and creating a bottleneck. As stated earlier, my P2B rig has a Celeron 1Ghz (S370-DL slocket) and 768MB RAM...
Which nVidia manufacturers are recommended? That are still around?
A couple of years ago I would have gone with VisionTek. Now I'm looking at PNY, MSI, Gainward, or Leadtek.
What does a GF3 Ti200 have over a regular GF3? The specs seem to indicate the GF3 Ti200 is slower than the GF3. I thought the Titaniums were better versions of the original GPUs.
Having said that, I also want something that will do a respectable job of playing the latest and greatest games. You know...just in case.
Class is over for now, so I'll have to check back in tonight. Thanks for the replies so far.
Well, I'm not settled on a Ti200+, it was just the card type I was considering. I'll look into the GF256. I'll probably go with a Ti200+ if they are not that much more expensive. I'm in a training class right now and do not have too much time to check prices...I'll have to check at home tonight.
I'm running a Celeron 1.0G in a slocket w/ 768MB RAM. The mobo rev is 1.10. The GF3 Ti is actually first on my list, but I wanted to make sure no one else had any compatibility problems with it and the P2B.
I'd like to upgrade my Asus P2B system from the Viper V550 AGP I'm currently using. Does anyone have any recommendations? Or, if you are currently using a P2B, what video card are you running? I'd like to get one of the GeForce Titanium cards, but am not sure if the newer ones are compatible...
I spoke to a MS Rebate rep. this morning (Tia).
printed PDF is valid 'original coupon'
rebate expires March 31, not March 9 as stated by CompUSA
rebate is not limited to CompUSA and online stores are not restricted -- you can use it for any MS certified reseller, online or off
<< The cue cat needs to see the reflection of the flashing light. >>
You're right, I forgot. It is by reflection. That's what I get for posting before my first cup of coffee.
Still haven't gotten anything from IEN, been waiting for 2 months. Maybe I'll try IBM again...
I ran out and purchased one at my local CompUSA during lunch. There were 6 left in stock when I left.
The PDF rebate has been taken off the CompUSA web site, but I have it if someone wants to host it. The offer expires March 31 (CompUSA's site claims March 9). I called the MS rebate center...
Looking at upgrading my aging PC (Asus P2B mobo) to 1Ghz Celeron. Finally found someplace that sells new Asus S370-DL slocket converters, now I just need help finding the best deal on a:
Celeron 1Ghz FC-PGA (Socket 370) CPU w/ heatsink/fan (preferably new)
I'm leaning towards the SL5XQ since...
The flickering is a power-saving 'feature' of the CueCat. It's designed to go into sleep (flickering) mode when it is not being used. It has a motion detector that is supposed to notice when you are trying to use it and bring it out of sleep mode, but in my experience that sometimes takes a...
The $5 coupons are found either in magazines or were emailed to random individuals who have an account with BB. The only way you can get the coupon/code is to cut it out of a magazine or have someone PM you their code if they are not going to use it themselves, if it hasn't already expired...
Here's another Vividence invite from Microsoft to evaluate four of their community sites for a $15 Amamzon GC. You should get a popup from Microsoft's homepage asking if you want to join, but if you don't or clicked 'cancel' earlier, here's the link:

I signed up this afternoon and had an...
Has anyone received this GC yet? If so, did you have to install the software? I've gotten three emails asking for feedback or offering support, but no GC...
<< signed up for this.. many months ago.. never recieved the cd... >>
Same here...if anyone actually gets this, please let us know. I gave it two tries, a month apart, and have yet to get anything.
Just got a $40 GC to Amazon.com for taking a website evaluation. If you're not registered with www.Vividence.com, you might want to check them out...I've received between $100-$150 in Amazon.com GCs from them in the last year...
$41.64 is the price for the memory at 15% off list price.
$48.99 x 0.15 = $7.35
$48.99 - $7.35 = $41.64
At first, I was seeing the same results as you...whether I used the Anandtech link or not, it still said $41.64.
Then I deleted all my cookies.
I went back to Crucial.com, and the...

I used to have a terrible boss, but then he resigned and I got his job. Eh, so I had to put up with him for a couple of years, but it worked out in the end. He went on to another job and was quickly terminated I believe -- his new employers probably wouldn't put up with his s***. Don't know...
Glad I ordered one yesterday, then. My order was also listed as 'on hold' this morning, but the csr stated it was only for address verification.
While I had her on the line, I asked her to add another hub to my order, even though they were no longer listed on the site. First she stated they...
<< eugaet,

That's exactly the address I was at yesterday... :(
I'm going to try it from home later this week to see if it some sort of connectivity issue at work.
