I do not have a dual monitor conflict, I have only monitor. My problem is with windows xp. For some reason windows xp thinks I have a pci video card. In my device manager it has primary display adapter as agp radeon 9700 pro(which is ok) and second display adapter as PCI radeon 9700 pro(which...
I have a ATI Radeon 9700 pro and windows xp insist that I have two display adapters when I have only one video card in my system. The drivers for the secondary adapter(not suppose to have one) is conflicting with my primary adapter. Everytime I uninstall the secondary adapter windows xp...
Unable to boot up in Wndows 98 Se and Windows Me( not dual boot ), keep getting windows protection error message after installing large program and getting BSOD concerning VXD files. Able to boot in safe mode without problems. Formated three times and went from Windows Me to Windows 98 Se and...
I appreciate the feedbacks. From what I understand, if I can find a 80GB single platter hardrive that is the one to go with as far as the biggest bang for your buck. Is there such a hardrive?
I've been reading some reviews on the WD 80, 120 and 200GB with 8MB cache and seems like the larger the drive the faster it is. Can someone explain to me why? Which of the three should I buy? Are these drives just as fast as SATA?
I have one stick of Corsair 512MB CMX-3200C2 ver. 1.1 and was thinking of upgrading to 1GB with a intel dual DDR400mhz mobo. Can two sticks of this type of ram do 400mhz in dual mode or do I need to get new Twin XMS. Any info would be helpful. thx

I want to upgrade my cpu to the XP2400 but according to MSI website my motherboard does not support this cpu. My multiplier clock goes up to 15. So if I manually set it to 15 and the fsb at 133 it should work, right?? I just want other people opinions on this before I buy it. THX!!
I'm thinking of buying the new Asus A7N8X Deluxe motherboard but I have heard that Asus and Crucial ram or not a good mix especially ecc registered ram. Is this true? Will I have a compability issue with this setup? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thx!!
I tried burning an image with a cd-rw media at 4x speed and it worked. So I then tried using a cd-r media and burned at 8x(maximum) speed and it worked. I don't know what that is all about? I'm going to buy a cleaning kit today and try and burn a few things.
My cables and connections are fine. I just thought of something, using different skins for your OS using windowblinds, could that make my burning software screw up?
Adul, what do you mean about a clean install? Uninstall the drivers for my plextor and reboot? There is nothing wrong with my OS, I'm using Windows XP PRO.
I forgot to mention that I always make an image of the file to my hardrive. I never burn on the fly. Like I said, I have made almost 300 cds with this plextor and never had this problem until now. I don't think the cause would be dust. I can't see dust being the cause to so many cd-r discs...
It doesn't support burnproof. I did a disk defragmentation before burning and I still get coasters! IT is getting worst, it is at a point where it just won't do a complete burn for me anymore.
Do you think all it needs is a good cleaning? Never cleaned a cd-rw before. Plextor reads just fine, it is when I'm trying to burn a game or audio cd it stops in the middle of the burning process and clonecd and Fireburner both says that my " plextor has failed to write to cd medium ".
I think my old Plextor 32/8/4 days are numbered. I get a bad burn every second cd I try to make. It does this with Fireburner and CloneCD, so I don't think the problem is software related. Is there a special number of burns that a burner is only capable of doing? I think I have made roughly...
I'm thinking of buying a dvd-rom and hollywood plus pci card but my tv is a good 30 feet away from my computer. So I thought maybe a wireless video sender might be able to do the trick. Has anyone tried this setup? How good you think the picture quality would be? Is there such a thing as a...
I have 2 x 256mb of Crucial ram and the default voltage is 2.5v. You have yours set at 2.8v! Having the voltage set on your ram that high will cause them to overheat and maybe cause some instability issues. Try installing the newest 4in1 VIA drivers and download the updated windows xp nvidia...
mste456,
We have a very similar setup. I'm using a MSI KT266 Pro-Raid with 512 Crucial ECC Registered DDR and 1.4 t-bird @ 1.54MHZ. But my CPU is unlocked so my settings for the CPU is 11.5x133mhz= 1540mhz. This way here I'm not stressing my ram or my system. With my Vision Xtasy 6564 o/c @...
I had problems with the new drivers also but managed to fix the problem. Three things that could cause your computer to freeze and lockup:
1- having a VIA base motherboard
2- using WinXP
3- using nvidia drivers 23.11 or above
If you are using all three like I am, chances are you're having...
The reason why I was asking is because I just bought one myself and should get it next week. Everybody told me that I was better off with the 64MB version but curiousity got the best of me.
I looked at your system rig and if you used the same 1.3Ghz T-bird and Win Me and you managed to get a...
I just saw at NewEgg they have these video cards for sale. Is this a mistake? Does a 128MB Geforce3 Ti200 exist? They have the 128MB Gainward Ti200 in stock. If it is not a mistake, if this video card atually has 128MB on board ddr ram, I want one!
Only problem is I live in Canada and...
I installed the new 23.12 drivers and so far so good. I did a few benchmarks and my system never crashed or locked up on me like the 23.11 drivers did. So right now I would say the new drivers for my system is a big improvement as far as stability goes. For performance, nothing has changed...
I have a VIA base motherboard using WinXp Pro with Visiontek 6564 Ti200. With the 23.11 drivers my system crashed on a regular basis, reinstalled the old 21.83 and never looked back. I really hope they cleared up the bugs with the 23.12 driver.
I tried deleting the partition using the winxp cd boot at setup but it won't let me do it. It says it can not let me delete the existing partition because it holds temporary setup files. I don't know what that means but I'm getting very frustrated!!
I have my rez set at 1078x760 and all settings set to max and I still get those nasty jagged edges. I'm also having the same problem with Quake3. All my games using Direct3D are all working fine. Got to be something wrong with my winxp registry.
I have WinXP Pro installed and using NTFS and I want to format my hardrive and start from scratch. I boot up with my winxp cd-rom to get to the c: command and I type in format c: and I get the warning saying 'you will lose everything on this drive, do you wish to continue?' and I click yes to...
When I wrote this topic I was only playing RTCW. I just decided to try playing game with Direct3D. Seems like all my games with Direct3D the graphics are perfect, the same as before. As for OpenGL, not so good. I tried reinstalling RTCW but I get the same pathetic jagged edges, I tried...
