Same thing happened to me. Though it was strange. I ordered a second BFG 7600GT card to do SLI from Newegg. I got it today and was pissed because the box said 7600GS. I was getting ready to RMA it when I notced it had a GT heatsink on it. I swapped it with my other 7600GT and sure enough, it's a...
I started at IBM years ago doing help desk work after college. I got my MCSE because I wanted to move on to doing sys admin work. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made career wise.
I have an USB DSL modem (Intel 3200) and share out the DSL connection by enabling internet connection sharing on the computer that the DSL modem is attached to. Both computers are networked through a 4 port 10/100 hub. Works fine. You should also be able to do it with a crossover cable between...
I use the 12x version of this drive on my Mac G4. Good, fast drive. No coasters yet. I don't have any firewire ports on my pc to test it there. The drive itself is pretty bulky. If you are going to be lugging this drive around, you might want to look for something a little more compact.
I have a 1.4ghz Tbird with a Volcano 2 in a Antec SX830 case with 4 case fans with a MSI K7T266 Pro 2 mobo. CPU Temps are around 41-42 C idle and 47-48 at full load.
My system temp is usually around 28 C. My temps are pretty close to yours. Since I don't overclock, it does a good job for an $8...
Multiple procs are useful for video encoding. There are video encoding programs like Flask Mpeg which are optimized for SMP. It speeds up divx encoding tremendously.
My Enermax 431w is sitting at 4.98vdc right now. I have never seen it drop below 4.95. Upgrading to the Enermax solved the random reboot problems I had with my 350w Antec power supply.
If you uninstall Cheesy CD Creator in Win2k it's possible to loose your CD drives from my computer and have to do a reg hack to get them back. Nero unfortunately doesn't do this ;)
From the reviews I've read about the new Volcano 7 HSF. Thermaltake might have actually have a decent product for once. However, I won't buy any of their products again.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for USB2, but right now that is not even a consideration, since it will be a while before the connector is available on laptops.
USB 2.0 for laptops right here
The Pioneer is a DVD-RW and not a DVD RAM drive. Two different formats. If you are going to make movies, get a DVD-RW. The disks can be read by many (not all) set top DVD players. I have the Pioneer A03 and it's a good drive. The only problem is that my home DVD player sometimes has problems...
My Asus K7V motherboard. Had it for 10 months. Damn KX133 chipset. The thing was finally stable with the last bios release and the via 4.29 4 in 1s. By then it was time to upgrade :(
About time. I stopped reading them a few years ago when they did an article on classic games. They stated that anyone who likes older games better than current games is "blinded by nostalgia." Man, that really struck a nerve with me and other old school gamers.
Directron sells these: External USB Enclosures
I have one of those translucent colored ones with a TDK 8x burner. Works fine but will burn only at a max of 4x due to the limitatiion of the USB bus. Hope this helps.
The batteries last around 4 to 5 hours before they need recharging. Boot up times seem to vary between people I've talked to. Mine boots up in about 45 sec to 1 min and has 11gb of mp3s on it. I you run the disk defrag utilility once in a while, it seems to keep boot times down. Hope this helps.
I am thinking about getting the creative jukebox 20 gig version. I would rather have that than a cd/mp3 player because I am so sick of cd's. Does anyone have the 20 gig jukebox? Text
I have a 20gb one. I had the 6gb one for about a year but ran out of space on it. I know a lot of people around...
