If not for gaming, I'd think the multi-core Ryzen would be better.
Plus, the Ryzen motherboard seems to have better connectivity: 6 USB 3.1 & 2 USB 2.0 compared to 4 USB 3.1 & 2 USB 2.0 on the Intel board. It also has DVI-D + HDMI, comapred to DVI-D + VGA on the Intel board.
The Ryzen setup...
Even if Ryzen is good, I'll stick with my 6800k build for a while. Maybe I'll snag a used 6850k or something if I can.
Anyone know if Ryzen will have 10 core variants?
OP,
I'd go for 16GB if I were you.
Here's a look at my system for reference. While ONLY playing Guild Wars 2, and having a few Chrome tabs open, I'm already using 7.5GB of system RAM! If I were to run any other large programs at the same time I'd likely go over 8GB just that fast.
If you're...
Between the two, I'd go for the 1TB 960 EVO. Over time I think you'll appreciate the higher capacity of the EVO more than the slightly faster speeds of the PRO.
At this point you may want to wait and see how well Zen performs before building a new rig.
And there's no point getting a Samsung 850 Pro when the 960 Pro/EVO's are going to be released in a month and perform substantially better.
You've been in these forums long enough to know where to find this info.
A 1070 should offer significant performance increase over your 970 if you're playing demanding games.
Trump didn't do anything to improve his likability and still wrote off his "p*ssy grab" comments as locker room talk, instead of apologizing for them.
He had some good zingers in there, but I'm not sure it was enough to improve his poll numbers. Too many answers were just rambling off-topic.
